  • Let's see if the bad calls "even out" in this one, as is always said. The Wings need about six really really really bad calls to go their way for it all to even out. Scoring a goal with six men on the ice would be a nice start. Then the Wings need to get a couple of bullshit five on threes. last night was the most penalties the Wings have received in a playoff game in 13 years. As Jamie H (who I think most people here know) said in the Michigan forum and I agree
The refs decided they were just going to keep calling penalties until San Jose scored. I'm surprised they didn't just kick the puck into the net for them.

    • No other officials in any of the four major sports leagues make more than those in the NHL, where starters get a $140,000 salary. After a 15-year career, an NHL referee may be looking at an annual pay upwards of $250,000. First-class air travel, expenses. Full-time professionals. At least they can do a FAIR job buullshit!@1!!!

      • There is nothing that says they can't kill these penalties. Wings' PK has been bad for a few playoffs now.

The officiating Sunday night was atrocious. It was unforgiveable. There have been a few instances in these playoffs in which the referees seemed as though they were getting paid by the ill-conceived penalty, and last night was one of them. Ten power plays for the San Jose Sharks in their 4-3 victory, and four for the Wings. It was an embarrassment.

Take in concentration while they are killing penaltys, they could and should have been playing 5-5 hockey this is the playoffs and the Wings got jobbed Alamo Bowl style!

            • You are going to have badly officiated games. I thought game 7 versus PHO was lame as well, but it went the Wings way.

              • Terry Foster of the Detroit News and talk radio and tv is such a tool!

"Here is my complaint. Red Wing fans have become Michigan football fans. They never lose games; officials take it from them."

It's pretty hard to win Game 2 when you're playing against 18 players, a goaltender and two referees. This game was disgusting and pathetic, and if there ever was proof positive of an anti-Red Wing bias, this is it.

                  • The Wings were the the second-least penalized team in the NHL during the regular season, averaging 8.8 penalty minutes a game. They have 36 penalty minutes in the two losses to the Sharks.???????

                        • San Jose better take the refs out for drinks tonight. It's the least they can do for getting the game handed to them.

                          • NHL's director of officiating has reviewed Game 2

If the Detroit Red Wings complained about the officiating in Sunday's 4-3 loss to the Sharks, they likely did so through former NHL referee Mick McGeough, who is serving as the series manager.

                            • If the Sharks do truly have the refs working for them, then its a lost cause.

Complaining about the refs is a losers lament.
