  • Shane Doan would look good with a Wheeled Wing on his uniform.

The thing that was not talked about was that Phoenix added a lot of salary at the trade deadline with money they did not have. Attendance was not supporting this and the NHL sprung for it. Bettman really wanted Phoenix to go a long way this year.

    • FWIW, it looked like Helm tripped to me.

Jaadam, I think the refs would've called the delay had it not been a 5-3 already

          • WoW. I missed the first period as I was talking with my attorney but the second period was awesome. The Wings were flying out there and peppering Bryzgalov. Bryzgalov played great. That was fun shit to watch. Where was this team the last game? They better stop the Jekyll and Hyde routine or they'll be ousted this next series.

            GO LIONS "10" !!!!!!!!!!

            • I was nervous and tense through that first period. After the initial flourish to begin the game by Phoenix, Detroit really dominated and couldn't score, I was fearing it was going to be one of those games. Once they finally broke through the floodgates opened. The goal by Stuart really deflated Phoenix, took the air right out of them.

Really good series overall, wish the Wings weren't so inconsistent at times but at least they ironed out enough of the kinks to move on, hopefully the consistency approves. I have to tip my hat to Phoenix, they played a tough series but they play clean and didn't try to goon it up either.

              • Yeah I was surprised they didnt resort to those tactics too. We were beating them pretty bad in their building and you know they hate guys like Homer and Bert. Generally that stuff comes out but they played a clean series.

I think a lot of that had to do with setting a good image for their fans and prospective buyers in the last game of their season.

I suspect down 4-1 at the end of the second that the league sent a stern message that they were going to play that last period with dignity or face some monetary reprimand.

                    Congrats to the Wings.

Lidstrom bashers are a joke who don't know hockey, they are/were on the radio alll the time im sure the first loss they will be back. Phoenix almost averaged a full 5 years younger than Detroit, it was all Wings as they clearly had all the energy, jump and desire in game 7. The Coytoes looked gassed.
