Seeing a lot of high scoring games in the various Game 2's.

Just got back from the game! Great win, and such a great atmosphere.

2 things:

Theodore was PISSSED at himself when got to the bench!! I'm a huge Varlamov fan, so I can't complain.
The Caps can't complete the simplest of passes it seems! It's crazy! They're so sloppy!

Say what you want about Ozzie and the team in front of him but he was the reason we won the Cup in 07 IMO. When Dom got benched Ozzie stepped in and ignited this team. Had we not made the switch and Ozzie tap into a brick wall we'd never have gotten by Nashville.

With that said I've gotta feeling that Howard is gonna come back strong in Detroit. The team is going to really buckle down for him in The D and he's shown he can make some pretty incredile saves when we need him to. That glove save he made the other night while practically doing the splits robbing Pheonix was really nice.

As a game is happening... I'm not terribly concerned with analyzing how the performance fits into the larger picture. I save that for any post-game discussions (like the one we're having now). During the game, I am only concerned with what is happening at that time.

Wings aren't playing up to standards - that is if giving up 4 goals is the standard (better not be).

They better come out and grab Game 3 by the throat and make a statement at home.

Not to worry about game 3. They will put on a great show for the home crowd.

Howard has not been playing badly. The D however can step it up a notch, particularly the Lidstrom/Rafalski paring.

Sorry Mark, I have to disagree about Howard. he has not been playing that well in my opinion. However, given it's his first taste of playoff competition, it could have been worse. I expect, he will pick it up again, starting today. I certainly hope your prediction holds up, as it will lend some credibility to my pre-series prognostication of the wings in 5 at the most. Regardless, I don't see a Detroit loss today.

I said HAVING - i.e. relying on scoring 6 or 7 goals. Like the Lions having to score 40 to win.

I am not sure how you can say that since the Detroit Lions have a history of giving up more points than they score, however, that logic has worked well for the Wings.

If the Red Wings have to score 4 or more every game - they aren't getting far in the playoffs. They didn't even average 3 a game during the season.

Man, I hate professional sports official team sites. They give me a freaking headache.

I was just on the RWs site, home page only, and I counted NINE (9) opportunities to buy tickets....more if I counted the different packages they offered.
