    • Pretty interesting that three teammates are inducted in the same class.

You have no proof that they would have played great in Game 7. It's all speculation. They may have played with youthful exuberance. They may have played with youthful timidity. Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals is filled with pressure. Coaches tend to go with experience over youth in that situation because it often comes down to a mistake, which young players are more prone to make. The kind of mistake veteran blueliner Brad Stuart made on Talbot's first goal.

          • Now that's getting mileage out of an original trade:

Ducks deal Pronger for Lupul, Sbisa, draft picks

*June 26th, 2009, 4:31 pm ? 14 Comments ? posted by Dan Wood, Staff writer

The Ducks have traded defenseman Chris Pronger to the Philadelphia Flyers for former Ducks right wing Joffrey Lupul, defenseman Luca Sbisa, first-round draft picks this year and next year and a conditional third-round pick in 2010 or 2011.

The Ducks acquired Pronger from the Edmonton Oilers in 2006 for a package that included Lupul.

The deal gives the Ducks the 15th and 21st picks Friday night in the first round of the NHL entry draft, leaving open the possibility that they might be able to package those picks to move up in the first round.

*The DUCKS mgmt has been saying for days they needed to get inside the top (IIRC) 9 for some reason.

Thank you CHRIS PRONGER for your service and helping to bring the 1st of hopefully many Stanley Cups to Anaheim (Orange County, CA).

              • The Flyers are perfect for Pronger, he can remind the fans of the Broad Street Bullies.

                    • CHRIS PRONGER was nothing less than an absolute class act as a player while in ANA.

                      His final comments:

Pronger, 34, was a key figure in the Ducks' 2007 Stanley Cup championship and has one year remaining on his contract, at $6.25 million. Speculation that he would be traded had run rampant since before the March trade deadline.

"I think the writing was on the wall," Pronger said. "When they're shopping you for three months, you kind of get the hint. I think it was at the stage where they're trying to figure out the budget and payroll and all that. Scotty is coming back. At that point, you start realizing you're the odd man out.

"I can stand here with my head held high, tell everyone I played my best. I played my heart out and gave everything I had. I'll do the same thing in Philly."

*Yes you did CP. Yes you did and I wish you well in your next stop on your way to the HOF.

                        • Pronger with one Hart, one Norris (<<same season IIRC<<) and one Stanley. I suppose if he's inducted to the HOF, he will have had eeked in with minimum qualifications.

Bobby Clark once again shows he is on some kind of mind altering substances.

                            • The DUCKS GM said he had to take that offer from PHI regardless if SCOTT NEIDEMEYER decided to come back because it helps the Ducks long term.
