I can understand Yzerman not making a move because he doesn’t think they’re ready or doesn’t think they’re close. He said something to that effect after the deadline passed. But they’re not ready because he made almost no moves the first few seasons. They’re in this position because of him. It’s not like he just got the job. They were also pointing out on local radio that his pro scouting has been absolutely terrible.
Last night the Wings were up 2-1 going into the 3rd and I think they were on the power play to start the period and they gave up 2 goals in the first few minutes. Yzerman should have just sold every player off. What’s the point?Comment

I think it's too late in the Yzerman era to sell off assets. Trading good players for draft picks that take 6 years to get here sounds unappetizing.
He keeps on talking about having a sustainable future and how they could have screwed that up with a big trade. I don't know about that, they are already paying big money to Seider, Larkin, Raymond and DeBrincat. The sustainable success should be seen.already.
Their pro scouting is bad, it's hard to pick out any of the veterans that they signed that have done anything special. Most of these players are average and you are paying above average salaries. The development is bad, is there a player they have acquired that has gotten better?Comment
