  • Accountability - if using a super slo mo frame by frame view from an angle the Ref wasn't privy to in the first place - well that is misplaced accountability.
The League and the Networks need to be on the same page here. Otherwise it's a friggen joke - with the Network driving the micromanagement train.

I'll be honest here. Yesterday I watched the umpteenth replay of Galaraga's 28 out Perfect Game that wasn't.
It was the FIRST time I've seen the view from the Umpires view - where he might have thought that sno-cone meant Galaraga didn't have control of the ball.
Umpires are used to "pop-thud" and in that case there was no "pop". Still, he'd have to drop the ball to make me call an otherwise out - safe.

    • I just looked at the NHL standings and realized the Red Wings aren’t even close to being the worst team in the league. How is that humanly possible?

Buffalo has us by 10 points!
      F#*K OHIO!!!

You're not only an amazingly beautiful man, but you're the greatest football mind to ever exist. <-- Jeffy Shittypants actually posted this. I knew he was in love with me.

      • Wing have been a barely under 500 team other than the 8 game slide missing covid guys. Sabres fucked their rebuild trying to rush it like some want the wings to do.

Sabres have lost 17 straight, Traded Staal, Hall is a for sure trade. They will surely be finishing last.

            • I mean the time frames you guys are describing are pretty much a 10 year rebuild, you are affirming what Ken Holland said. I tuned into listen to Thursday's Predator game and I couldn't even make it through the 1st period. I know I'm a fair weather can and being down 4-0 10 minutes in is no reason to complain. A true fan like you appreciates the rebuild and enjoys a good 7-1 whipping.

              • No one enjoys getting dominated like that but you're being facetious. It's not the norm.

They have a -0.99 v-s. -1.70 SRS score which Is Goal differential with weighting for strength of schedule. So they are almost a whole goal per game better there. A 10 percent higher point percentage again shows they are winning more and playing in closer games on average.

They are much improved. They will improve likely more next year to be in the low-end of the playoff hunt. With 2022 being more likely your biggest jump back up to being a more solid contender. From where they were last season 3-4 seasons would be a very good turnaround.

Unrestricted free agency is going to be a lot more ripe with talent this year than usual with it being almost a double year with many of last years guys only doing 1 year deals. They could potentially get a guy or two there to accelerate things as long as they don't go too long term and cripple their ability to retain all these young guys they have coming up. The UFA pool otherwise though is usually pretty weak with guys either taking less on short deals to go to winners or breaking bank with losers. We need to get guys to take short though not necessarily cheap deals for a loser. Not an easy task.

Jumping into restricted free agency or trading away picks for guys now is a bad idea. The trading they may do is shipping out guys with 1 year left like Bernier, Ryan, Staal, Glendining and Gagner. They may have to take on a contract or two somewhere in that and retain some salary for min cap but that should result in some more NHL time for guys like Cholowski, Svechnikov, Hirose, Smith and Rasmussen.

Guys will get called up, they will get experience. More will come up next year. Stop trying to rush it. No guarantee they move all of those guys at the trade deadline but they certainly don't if they didn't play them and they sat in the AHL or got waived. Some of those young guys coming up probably do make them better than they are now but why lose guys you can trade on waivers calling them up?

                • You are right hey have only been rebuilding since 2016, what's the rush? the 10 year goal is withing reach!

                  Comment

                  • That's also bullshit. Holland Trying to retool from his stars retiring and aging with bad deals in desperation isn't a rebuild its a GM trying to avoid one to keep his job.

They didn't go full rebuild until Yzerman came in last year. But ok. Only give them a year and a half to do it despite clear improvement from year one to two. Keep advocating for them to do dumb shit if it makes you feel better.

                    • You mention that the Sabres rushed their rebuild,.in what year of Jack Eichel's career should the Sabres have tried to compete? He is in his sixth season. Is it year 10?

In what year should we be able criticize a team getting their ass kicked 7-1 by the Predators? I just want to know how long the free pass lasts.

                      Comment

                      • The answer to your first question is clearly and emphatically. NOT YEAR ONE. They had a ton of picks and young guys they traded away to try to win now with a rookie which is incredibly stupid in the NHL.

I'm not going to continue to discuss anything further with you if you're just going to put forth knee-jerk reactions and facetious responses like this free pass BS when I already gave a timeline multiple times.

I was honestly trying to politely educate you about the workings of a league you very clearly do not understand. Your responses so far show you don't care to. That's fine. If I wasted my time it's not the end of the world but I'm not gonna keep wasting it.

                        • If they are this bad next year, is it OK to criticize?

Yeah I was trying to be nice and explaining things. Clearly a waste of time. I'll just be happy watching them win today. I'm excited about their future. There's no such thing as a guarantee in sports but only someone clueless would not see the improvement and the potential.
