We are only talking about getting into the eight seed, you shouldn't need all the advantages of yesteryear. They fucking talk like it's climbing Everest. Every.year that goes by proves Ken Holland even more right.

I can understand Yzerman not making a move because he doesn’t think they’re ready or doesn’t think they’re close. He said something to that effect after the deadline passed. But they’re not ready because he made almost no moves the first few seasons. They’re in this position because of him. It’s not like he just got the job. They were also pointing out on local radio that his pro scouting has been absolutely terrible.

Last night the Wings were up 2-1 going into the 3rd and I think they were on the power play to start the period and they gave up 2 goals in the first few minutes. Yzerman should have just sold every player off. What’s the point?

I think it's too late in the Yzerman era to sell off assets. Trading good players for draft picks that take 6 years to get here sounds unappetizing.

He keeps on talking about having a sustainable future and how they could have screwed that up with a big trade. I don't know about that, they are already paying big money to Seider, Larkin, Raymond and DeBrincat. The sustainable success should be seen.already.

Their pro scouting is bad, it's hard to pick out any of the veterans that they signed that have done anything special. Most of these players are average and you are paying above average salaries. The development is bad, is there a player they have acquired that has gotten better?

Really want to see them go on a run and make the playoffs. Hot goalitender would go a long way.

It’s tough for a goalie to get hot when the defense breaks down so often. But maybe Mrazek is the key…

I don't think he is coming from a bad team. Id expect a little better production, but at this point the NHL knows what he is.

I watched from the point of a little before Larkin's tying goal to the late PP goal for the Sens, to the Raymond goal that came 0.5 seconds late. I think the puck was off his stick but still about 4 feet away from going in when the clock hit zero.

Pain.

We have the first good night in a while for the Red Wings. They're up 7-3 on Buffalo, late in the 3rd.

Unfortunately, they need to score a lot to have a chance at winning. And Buffalo is one of the worst teams in the league. They’ve given up the most goals in the Eastern Conference.

There was a lot of fighting. Mrazek did play well. Even if they make the playoffs, they’re likely going to get swept. I miss those Yzerman/Fedorov/Lidstrom teams.

Need to stack some wins quick. Probably need more talent to coast in vs. scrapping for the last wildcard.

Wings lose in regulation again. Mrazek wasn’t bad. He even stopped a two on nothing break away as the result of a bad line change. I can’t see them making the playoffs. The whole second period felt like Carolina just toyed with Detroit.
