  • Hossa keeps rolling with another goal tonight. 4-3 shootout win.. I hate shootouts but i'll take it.
    F#*K OHIO!!!

You're not only an amazingly beautiful man, but you're the greatest football mind to ever exist. <-- Jeffy Shittypants actually posted this. I knew he was in love with me.

    • I love shootouts!

You get to see moves by the shooters that they would not dare use during a game. It is also the greatest cat and mouse game in sports.
I long for a Lions team that is consistently competitive.

      • Just getting Hossa for shootouts should be good for points this year, although Dats and Zetterberg scored the shootout goals last night.

I haven't seen a game yet this year...Is Osgood playing badly? Seems like he is giving up quite a few goals considering the shots he has faced.

        • While shootouts are fun to watch, it takes away from the OT. Too often I watch teams play conservative in OT. Hopefully the Wings don't fall into this trap, as it is hard to change things when the playoffs start.

          • No to the Eastern Conference. I like the Western teams better. I couldn't care less about teams in the East besides Toronto.

Funny, I thought the Campbell Conference just became the western conference, and was going to say that would be a huge change. But in making sure I was right about that, I found out that the Norris Division was originally in the Wales Conference. They switched in the early 70's?

              Who knew!

                • I think the change to make if you are making any change is to scrap the East vs. West conference style and mix them up. The East teams would never go for it because they have the advantage of low travel.

                  • I think they should scrap the East/West and move to a North/South system.

                    • Nah; that would guarantee an Anaheim or a Tampa or something in the Cup too frequently. They've each won once, but it's better to have the Canadian and border cities dominate.

For a West Coast team to win the cup involves not only great skill, but super human stamina.

the Norris was a Division in the Wales Conference until 1981 when it moved to the Campbell Conference........

                          Changes from the 1980?1981 season
                          • The Norris Division switches from the Prince of Wales Conference to the Clarence Campbell Conference
                          • The Hartford Whalers and Montreal Canadiens move to the Adams Division
                          • The Pittsburgh Penguins move to the Patrick Division
                          • The Los Angeles Kings move to the Smythe Division
                          • The Minnesota North Stars and Toronto Maple Leafs move in from the Adams Division
                          • The Chicago Black Hawks, St. Louis Blues, and Winnipeg Jets move in from the Smythe Division

yeah, while Anahamster plays Vancouver the Wings get to relax and play San Jose in the early rounds......

Uhhhh since both teams have to play in a series in the event a West Coast team gets to the finals, I am guessing that an Eastern team that plays in the Western Conference has above super human stamina as they have to make the trek in the three stanzas prior to getting into the finals. A West Coast team can pull another West Coast team in the first or second round giving them a break on travel.

                              • Mark, there is more travel for the WESTERN CONFERENCE teams once the playoffs begin......... much more

but Gonz was infering that teams like the Wings have that advantage, too......
