Xabibulin used to be the best. We've got a two-time Cup winning goalie who's 36 now. I'd go young.

Tibia trouble
Red Wings defenseman Chris Chelios will be sidelined three to six weeks with a fractured shin bone.
The 46-year-old Chelios is the NHL's oldest player. He is entering his 25th NHL season and his 10th with Detroit.
The team says Chelios was injured while blocking a shot during the third period of Tuesday night's 2-1 preseason loss to Montreal.
The Red Wings open their season Oct. 9 at home against TorontoI made baseball as fun as doing your taxes!

I wish I could watch some of the Grand Rapids games this year. Their first line (Helms, Leino, Abdelkader, Ericsson and Kindle) could be a 3rd line for almost any NHL team. I am assuming these guys all start at GR due to salary cap and the deep team.

Wow, Wings begin the season with a loss. Good game though. For the first game of the season, it really had a playoff atmosphere. Toronto is a long time rival of the Wings and it is about time we get to see them with regularity albeit only a scant once or twice a year.I long for a Lions team that is consistently competitive.

Ya he looked real good. That will be nice if he can stay at that high level then he and Ozzie can platoon all year and they'll be fresh for the playoffs and another Stanley Cup.
GO LIONS "08" !!!!!!!!GO LIONS "24" !!
