Next game is the trap game. The Wings have a chance to put their boot on the hawks throat or let them get back in it and give up home ice.

wings are the healthiest they've been all season. Its one of those things analysts will pay lip service to, but that's about it. Its probably the most important factor in the playoffs. The matchup is much closer when you factor that in. They weren't a seventh place team in talent, but they were in record due to the injuries.

Chicago fans are LIVID about the disallowed goal that would have tied it.Let's be fair... if the roles had been reversed, and prevented Detroit from trying the game, many of us here would be positively enraged.

The refs were right to disallow the second goal. Here's the rules for goaltender interference: http://www.nhl.com/ice/page.htm?id=26557
I don't know if he had contact with Howard, but you don't need contact for interference. These two pretty much nail why it wasn't a goal:
B. An attacking player skates in front of the goalkeeper, well inside the crease, at the same time a goal is being scored. The attacking player remains in motion and, in the judgment of the Referee, maintains a significant position in the crease impairing the goalkeeper?s ability to defend his goal.
D. An attacking player plants himself within the goal crease, as to obstruct the goalkeeper?s vision and impair his ability to defend his goal, and a goal is scored.
Goal is disallowed. The announcement should be, ?No goal due to interference with the goalkeeper.?
