Hank scoring in the first 2 minutes of the game seem to set the tone. Anaheim looked like the tired team from travel, not Detroit, the Wings seem to just have the jump in their legs all game.
Gonz where was Getzlaf for a game 7? Man he was invisible, Anaheim had their best year in their (rather short) history winning % and is knocked out in the first round. Kenny and Mickey talked about 44% of the time #2 knock off #7 in the NHL playoffs (though Mike in the Michigan forum says its the the way around).
FOX Det now is done broadcasting the Red Wings playoff this year WTF? They used to cover the first 2 rounds, now only one? That is BS! Im going to have to get the NBCS channel.

IF the Wings can snag a game or two while the Blackhaws are still finding their legs... they have a chance.
I know one thing though, if they go into coast mode like they did in the Ducks series, they won't last very long in the Blackhawks series. Living where I see the Blackhawks all the time on CSN, they seem to bring it late many times to tie or win games.
The Wings need to keep on the gas throughout the game. This will be another good series. All emotions can be traced back to two basic ones........love and fear.

2 game 7s tonight !! Im almost cheering for Toronto over Boston, seems forever they won a playoff series or even was in.
Used to watch them every Sat night on CBC HNIC as a kid, back then they were on more than the Red Wings.

"Lidstrom was the worst player for the Red Wings in that 2006 playoff run. He was on the ice for every single Edmonton goal."
Probably because he played more minutes than anyone else.
But hey, the Wings are in Round 2 is year and last year they lost in the first round with Lidstrom so he must have been dragging them down. They probably should have got rid of him instead of Coffey before that 97 Cup run so they could insure more Cup runs and better leadership. He probably went behind Yzerman's back and told players to ignore him just to undermine his great leadership...
Now that's sarcasm...

It serves the Leaves right. I love watching the HNIC and have seen a lot of Leave games, I find them fascinating. Its like a soap opera all the time and the fans are insufferable. For accomplishing as little as they have over the last 50 years, you'd think they'd have a bit of humility but anytime they have any success they act like its destiny for their storied club.
Going to the East to beat the is nice, but most of the teams in the east are total turnoffs. Its like in wrestling, you have heels who demand your attention and heels who demands you turn the station, most of the East teams are the latter.

let`s not forget the wings had a two goal lead with four minutes to go in game six...needed Captain Zee to pull it out in OT BTW all this nonsense about captains is hard to understand...Most of the guys who have worn the C over the years deserved the honor...They all have their good points.....Captain Zee is in charge of an entirely different team....I have a feeling history will treat him kindly.
From the Freep here are quotes from guys who know
Justin Abdelkader, not new to the team but new to playing on a line with Datsyuk and Zetterberg this season, said Zetterberg, "is our leader. We follow his leadership. He’s put all of us on his back. He’s done a great job all season, but especially of late. He’s a big reason why we’re here today. Just another great effort by him. He’s one of the most competitive guys I’ve played with."
Jimmy Howard, who has more tenure than most with Zetterberg, put it in simple terms. "He's just an amazing guy, an amazing captain. When the chips are down. He comes to play. It's fun to watch."
