The rumor was Shanahan was being intimitated by old school GMs. Its probably going to take a bunch of lawsuits for them to get wise. By then its too late, you have a bunch of retired players walking around with scrambled eggs.

We had a lot of money that we sat on but our big guns haven't showed up. Zetterberg and Franzen are no where to be found.F#*K OHIO!!!
You're not only an amazingly beautiful man, but you're the greatest football mind to ever exist. <-- Jeffy Shittypants actually posted this. I knew he was in love with me.

I have no problem with Holland holding tight.
Late season injuries and Nashville just plain wanting it more is the difference.
Wings no longer are the only team with the luxury of having 3rd and 4th liners produce big. Other franchises have that capability also.
Renne is just too big! I had him for a couple of years straight in a fanatsy hockey league and he won it for me two consecutive years. Dude is awesome!
They had some great chances last night but the bounces did not go their way and Renne covered just too much of the net.I long for a Lions team that is consistently competitive.

Yeah it just looks like Nashville is playing a little harder and doing hte little things it takes to win.....You look at the WIngs roster and its hard to pinpoint what is wrong, but its obvious something is and that changes need to be made.....I'd imagine Lidstrom will retire for good if they lose this series.

I turned the game off after Nashville scored the first goal. I've seen this song and dance before. The Wings "outplay" their oppostion for two periods but can't put the puck in the net. Sound familiar. I told Bugle Boy during the second intermission the Wings were going to lose. I've seen it too many times. It almost seems like a gameplan. Let the Wings control the puck all they want and clog up the front of the net and wait for them to make a mistake and capitalize.GO LIONS "24" !!

Can you believe three guys chasing the guy carrying the puck into the zone and all three chasing him behind the goal line only to have him pass to someone out front and no one is home?
To compound things, Howard was cutting off the angle out of the crease facing the corner and left 4/5ths of the net open.
I battled that kind of play in Pee Wees.I long for a Lions team that is consistently competitive.

This year and the two previous ones prove that our current core is not good enough and is definitely not elite. If Holland doesn't shake it up this summer then this team will be destined to make the playoffs for the next ~5 years as the 7th-8th seed and it's obvious that Holland will be more than happy with that.
The obvious glaring need we had was offensive depth scoring and size/tenacity in the top6, Babcock even stated as much when talking about what he wanted for the team. Yet what does Holland do at the trade deadline, trade a 1st round pick to bring back someone we gave away for nothing who happens to play like a clone of a D-man we already have (Ericsson) instead of getting a gritty, right-handed, skilled, winger capable of 50 pts a season (Steve Downie) or a big, gritty, shutdown, clutch face-off center-man named Paul Gaustad. Who you will recognize as the guy winning the face-offs the wings have in the Predators zone at the end of the game trying to tie up the game.
I still am very confident this team will win this series, but regardless this summer KH needs to go after Suter + Parise.20132014 AAL: Glover Quin #27

Confident?
Their play since the home game streak ended has not instilled much confidence in me.I long for a Lions team that is consistently competitive.
