Let me say, Bryzgalov probably had the best showing a goalie ever had while giving up 6 goals.

The team in front of him really let him down tonight.

I was pretty scared coming into this one. I didn't want to admit it, but I was leaning Phoenix.

6-1? Didn't see this coming. Certainly not in this fashion, and not with the way they played in game 6.

One difference I noticed:

Tonight, when Phoenix had the power play, the Wings actually got up and challenged the point shooters. In Game 6, they kinda skated halfway out and didn't cover anyone in doing so.

Really didn't make much difference in the final score, but it was something I noticed.

The Cayotes had a fine season. I was impressed that they didn't goon it up like Calgary did a few years ago. If Doan didn't go down, they may have knocked us out.

It was a pretty strange series. There was no such thing as momentum. Everytime one team seemed to get it, it was gone in a blink.

I was wondering if they would goon it up and to their credit, they didn't. They had too nice of a season to do something like that. I think they wanted to celebrate that aspect with their fans, and to get dirty would have detracted from that.

What a fantastic game for Howard. He made some really good stops and had it not been for a perfect shot off that face off I think he'd had another shutout.

That second goal by Dats was sick!! He made BryzSureGotShelledOv look like a fool. He was absolutely dominating.

Our special teams were perfect tonight. They played exactly how a Cup team plays. The Coyotes never really had a chance in setting up the puck on any of their powerplays for sustained periods of time.

Series MVP had to have been Jimmy Howard just for the fact that he took Doan out. Had Doan been playing this series couldve been a whole lot different.

i never will understand the penalty to Helm. he gets called for a dive when the yotes just get called for interferance on him? that doesnt make any sense.

Because he embellished the interference to the point of absurdity.

Memo to Helm: When taking a dive to draw attention to a penalty, don't flop to the ice a full four seconds after the guy finally lets you through.
