Overall, that was a very good first period, the brain fart right at the beginning excepting. I really like that fourth line with Abdelkader... they are so much more physical and energized when he's in there.

Neither of those were picture perfect. You'd like Bertuzzi to handle those plays, but it would have required some real nifty stickwork that I don't think you should expect from him at this point.

They have got to do something to get that defense playing better with the puck. I'd say it might be time to move Lidstrom and/or Rafalski down a pairing... but the guys behind them haven't been any better.

I can't believe this team is playing this badly even with Doan out. The Coyotes arent playing physical they're just out working us and we're giving up SO MANY TURNOVERS!!!

When you play as strong of a defensive team as the Coyotes, they aren't going to make many mistakes.

You can't make many either... and in that regard, the Red Wings defense continues to fail miserably.

The defense simply has not been nearly good enough, from 1 through 6. No one in any of the Red Wings defensive pairings has done enough consistently enough. Not a single one.

I do not like the Wings chances if they are going to have to score 4+ goals a game every game to win this series.

The Wings defense has been awful all series, and even more so today. No discipline, poor changes, turnovers... disgusting.
