  • and thumbs up to Ozzie. He really has stepped it up when we've needed him the most. He's making me change my mind about the first ballot HOFer.

You're not only an amazingly beautiful man, but you're the greatest football mind to ever exist. <-- Jeffy Shittypants actually posted this. I knew he was in love with me.

        • It won't be as easy to get Zetterberg out against Crosby in Pissburgh. I think that Helm would be a good matchup as a backup plan.

          • If Datsyuk is playing on Tuesday, you put him out there. on him.

            • The Wings were lucky to win that game, they had a few good breaks go their way, at both ends of the ice.

You know what though, I ain't complaining one iota about how they looked and played, because to win both ends of a back to back like that is awesome. Hopefully we can steal a game in Pittsburgh and wrap this up quickly.

I continue to believe he has a broken bone in his foot. If he does come back, I hope he doesn't come back on Tuesday. Penguins are guaranteed to win Game 3. Though he may need a game to get back into shape.

Wings aren't the Capitals, but let's not forget that Wasington was up 2-0 on Pittsburgh, too.

                  • I am curious how the officiating will be called on Tuesday. From the end of the game scrum that happened, I wonder if the officials will call the game a little bit more tighter at the start after having the players play the first two games. It could be vastly different.

If the Wings can survive the adrenaline rush for the first ten minutes or so of the Pens being at home, I think they have a good chance to win this game.

I sure do like how the younger players are stepping up though.

Who comes to mind when you think of "The Most Interesting Man in the World"? Don Cherry, of course.

So he was cast in the title role of a funny takeoff on that Dos Equis commercial for the "Hockey Night in Canada" opening segment Sunday night.

Wearing a pink coat, Cherry arrived at the Joe flanked by two young ladies aboard a boat on the Detroit River and made his way through the fans outside the arena. Inside he got a hug and a kiss from "my songbird," Karen Newman.

Budd Lynch, meanwhile, has been doing a taped voice-over: "His reputation is expanding faster than the galaxy. ... His blood smells like cologne. ... He often has awkward moments just because he likes them. ... He's the most interesting man in the universe."

                      Yup, that's Grapes.

Finally, Cherry makes it to the ice -- and partner Ron MacLean -- to deliver the punch line.

"I don't often make picks," he says. "But when I do pick, I pick Dee-TROY-it. Stay thirsty, my friends."
                      The only logical explanation is:
I'm about to die and this is my Jacob's Ladder

                      • Here is the vicious Hossa slash that led to an unfair Dee-TROY-it goal.

                        • I missed it Loops, I live in Tennessee, they have no idea who Don Cherry is around here. I will look for it on YouTube though. Sounds like Classic Grapes from Deac's description.

                          • FL,

I kept watching the replay to see what happened because the commentators kept making it sound like an obvious hook and slash. I couldn't see much that was penalty worthy, but I wasn't certain. That replay is really conclusive - good non-call. If anything, the Penguin player breaks his own stick. Like I said in an earlier post, I've never seen so many broken sticks in my life. It's as though they're made of match sticks.

                            • Yep, his momentum was taking him away from the play and he was playing the puck.

I'm pretty sure the suspension wouldn't have been rescinded if a player was crippled.
