What?????????????????????????????????????????????? ???????? Gonz, I know they're your team but isn't that statement a little jaded?
Has nothing to do with being jaded.
Its what happened.
IF DATS let NEIDS go, nothing happens. When he kept doing what he was doing, NEIDS reacted in a way I have never seen him react.
Fighting causes such high drama apparently for some WINGS fans here. This fan of the DUCKS, not so much.
The WINGS fans at the game didn't seem to be arguing any about the tussle afterwards either. They were all about the kudos for HILLER (even though the DUCKS team D helped him out in getting back to looking like his old self).
That was the first time I have ever seen NEIDS (#27) get into a physical altercation like that as a DUCK. He's a pacifist in comparison to other DUCKS. The only way he goes like that is because DATS wanted to try and play tough guy (was twisting NEIDS around from behind) but found out he's nothing but a little punching bag trick.
...just from watching the clip Rocky posted, it looked to me more like Dats was about to skate away and Neidermeyer pulled a "I'm not gonna hit ya. I'm not gonna hit ya. Like hell I'm not! Wham!!".
"This is an empty signature. Because apparently carrying a quote from anyone in this space means you are obsessed with that person. "

At the 1:40 point of the above posted video, still time on the clock, NEIDS should've been called for hooking. Moot point with time running out. DATS turns around and NEIDS attacks him. Announcer even says NEIDS no stranger to throwing punches. That's what I see. NEIDS threw the first punch, totally uncalled for. Then almost like it was premeditated, DUCKS everywhere were attacking the WING players. Unfortunately, with the LEAGUE having gonads the size of peanuts, nothing will result of this, Luckily for the DUCKS.

Smart play by the Ducks, if you go after Rafalski and re-injure him your job is much easier. Same with Datsyuk. They know the league won't do a thing. Thats the way they roll, like the Johnstown Chief. Niedermayer playing the Ogie Oglethorp character.
I have not watched the VS (HD) copy of the game yet but the refs missed a clear interference with something like 2 mins left against DET.
The Ducks doctor (who is a Wings fan from Detroit) that was sitting with us admitted it was a lucky break for them.
I'm telling you, watching the WINGS in person only solidifies my thoughts of them as being little tricks. They do annoying little things to the DUCKS that pisses them off. They try to get under the Ducks skin to get penalties called against them but when the Ducks square up on them after being pushed too far, its all, woah is me.
Not us man. We're clean. No way....its those mean old Ducks, not us.

If you want to see it like that, then hey, they learned from HOMER on how to try and injure the other teams catalyst (J. WIES was banging on WINGS all over the place before his lung injury and is back at it again with that win last night).
Jumping on Rafalski was not clean, but if he is suffering from a bad concussion, its a very smart play. Better to have to play Meech instead of Rafalski. And if the stroke rumor Chemiclord had was true, even better you might finish him so you never have to play him again.
He got jumped, the only way he could avoid that is if he was on the bench when the horn sounded. Like I said, its a very smart play, try to incapacitate him and it makes your job easier. The league won't do anything. meaningless 10 minute misconducts at the 60 minute don't hurt you.
Its a good touch when you rip the guys helmet off to connect a few blows to the head of a guy who isn't dropping the gloves. If the guy has a concussion then that the right medicine to apply.
I think chemiclord might be right about the knee injury. Getlaf was looked like he was playing on a bad wheel. Albeit he was playing very well through it, if it is an injury. The first goal, TSN isolated him and showed him laboring up the ice but he came through.
I asked our friend (a Ducks team doctor) about this injury rumor and he said there is no truth to it.
He did share with us though that B. RYAN has a foot injury that we were not aware of.
This from my local paper on GETZ (from MARK WHICKER that did that nice WINGS piece posted in here):
Healthy Getzlaf leads Ducks off the ledge
ANAHEIM -- All those flu-like symptoms are falling off Ryan Getzlaf like sprawling defensemen.
He's not sick anymore. He's just a carrier.
He carries pucks, carries lines, carries a team back to another rink when it seemed inevitably headed for The Lake.
He dragged himself through Games 4 and 5, achy, sluggish, not really into it. Suddenly the Ducks were flushed and feverish, although that might have been the reflection from 10 illuminated goal lamps.
Game 6 rolled around Tuesday night and the Ducks underwent a test to see how much calcium was in the spine. They passed with flying forwards, particularly Getzlaf and Corey Perry, and they survived the Red Wings, 2-1, to conjure up Game 7 in that big metallic box on the edge of the Detroit River Thursday.
They isolated him on the first goal and he was not laboring. The TSN guys were all talking about it, they just initmated an injury. I have no idea if its true or not. If you have a foot injury you would labor like that as well.
