  • Yeah, he isn't taking any pay cut.

    • My new favorite DE prospect for the Lions is Jared Ivey from Ole Miss. At 6’5, 285 he has really good athleticism and strength, seems a good match for the things they value and were looking for with Davenport.

      • And may be gettable on Day 2.

Whatever they do they can not count on Davenport. If he wants to sign on the down low fine. If not bye bye!

A little early to tell on that - McShay on his podcast said based on a handful of scouts he’s talked to, Ivey is higher on their boards than you see in the media. (And Sawyer is lower).

            • Yeah, everything is too early to tell on draft position. But he may be. ;)

              • POD doing a bunch of offseason stuff, including their combine/draft primers for guys that might fit the Lions, so far they've done RB, WR and TEs. The video on Jackson Hawes - pretty unanimously the best blocking TE in the draft - is a fun watch. I would like to see them get an upgrade at that TE3 with guy that can do a lot more as a blocker.

I can see it. Sawyer was the leading guy on the OSU side with the melee after the game. That showed you can get into his head and then he makes bad decisions.
2012 Detroit Lions Draft: 1) Cordy Glenn G , 2) Brandon Taylor S, 3) Sean Spence olb, 4) Joe Adams WR/KR, 5) Matt McCants OT, 7a) B.J. Coleman QB 7b) Kewshan Martin WR

You're reading too much into that shit. He is just not that good of an athlete

                    • Yeah, his intensity will be a feature not a bug. But he’s stiff and I don’t think he’s going to burn up the 40 track either. Solid player, especially against the run.

                          • Slay open to a Detroit return if Eagles release him. He also expects next season to be his last.
