They need to find some answers on the OL - Glasgow had a bad year and Zeitler will need to be replaced. Mahogany looks like he could fill one of those spots but not sure they have anybody else. Decker I think they are stuck with, because Manu won’t be ready and they have no other options. I also think they could use a better blocking TE.

On the D side, they need playmakers. They’ll get Hutch back but McNeil will be out most of next year. For all of his sterling PFF grades, Campbell does not give you high variance impact plays. Do they resign Barnes coming off of his injury? And I don’t know what to do at CB. Have to hope Arnold takes a huge step up next year, they get something out of Rakestraw. CD will probably be a matter of price - he’s likely looking at his last chance at a large contract. Might be a matter of either it’s him or Barnes.

And I’m going back to my hobby horse here, but they gave up valuable picks in last years draft for Manu and Vaki - two guys that at best will be bit players next year. Those are assets they could really use coming into this year.

I cannot really disagree with your summary on next steps, I don't see the hype in Zeitler and Glascow seems to have his best years past him.

Glasgow was solid last year but really took a step back this year. Zeitler was good but he and Penei did have some communication issues at times. Maybe they try to bring Z back on an other 1 year deal and have Mahogany take over for GG. And despite his 2nd team all pro nod, Ragnow really seemed to wear down as the year went on. Don’t know if that is the result of his nagging injuries. That OL strength is definitely in a state of flux right now.

I thought Zeitler was excellent this year, but he was unavailable yesterday and he is 35. A lot of the players they acquired this year helped them get to 15-2, but if they can't go in the playoffs, what's the use?

To me with Decker, Ragnow and Sewell you can find guards to fill out the rest of the roster.

I'm not sure about Glasgow, when the Lions offensive line took a step back it was often due to his play.

They have developmental guys that haven’t developed, at least not into reliable starter quality. The fact that Mahogany jumped to the head of the line almost immediately when he got back says a lot - hopefully it’s that he’s good player and he can move into a starting role, (he looked pretty for a guy who had to sit out so long with mono) and not just that the other guys are terrible.

I thought Sorsdal was a big disappointment this year after looking promising his first year. I guess in training camp they had hopes of him having a breakout but according to the beat writers he was clearly getting beat out by Skipper. But to his credit Skipper turned in average to above average performances when he had to play LT.

Lots of blame to throw around for this one, but my 'superbowl or bust' balloon broke when Hutch broke his leg. Oddly not as disappointed this year. I think the team will be pretty good next year too, though maybe not 15-2 good. We will see. Regardless its been the most fun I have had watching this team in my entire life.

So many lions fans talking about what Glenn and Johnson need to do differently next season. Lol they are gone. We don't need to worry about them next season outside of possibly facing them as an opponent. Adam Schefter reported they are both taking HC jobs. I can count on 1 finger how many times his reporting has been wrong. He is the ultimate nfl insider. Lions will be starting fresh next season with a completely different staff. Which will be a good thing in my opinion. This style they have played over last 2 years was fun and new but teams where catching on. And it worked when Lions where the hunter. But not so much when they were the hunted. Time for a new approach.

Defense could not pressure the qb for the past three weeks, no pass rush and mediocre corners. On offense don’t let Williams throw any passes. Lions need to learn how 5o win at a different level

You could see that Washington had the perfect plan for whenever the Lions blitzed, and they killed them almost all game....The last half of the season there were two knowns with the Lions defense: they couldnt get to the passer without blitzing, and Glenn likes to play alot of man to man....That works fine if you have the players, but as the injuries kept mounting they just couldnt keep pace anymore.
