If you are worrying about a different matchup you could have had to possibly advance, you aren't a Superbowl champ.

Couple of things for sure, one, we need to get younger on the offensive line, and two, we need more help on the Defense.
Also, whoever we select for the offensive coordinator and the defensive coordinator is going to be huge.
Brad and Dan have a lot to work on this offseason."I hope to see the Lions in the Super Bowl before I die"

In 1985, the Chicago Bears won 15 games, were the number 1 seed, and won the Super Bowl.
In 1998, the Minnesota Vikings won 15 games, were the number 1 seed, and lost the NFC Championship Game, at home.
In 2011, the Green Bay Packers won 15 games, were the number 1 seed, and lost in the divisional round, at home.
In 2024, the Detroit Lions won 15 games, were the number 1 seed, and lost in the divisional round, at home.
I've honestly been expecting this season to end like this for at least the last 2 years!
But as others have said: you cannot sustain THIS many injuries on defense and win it all. And you certainly can't be this weak defensively and win in January.
Great year, everybody. We go again. But the D - which was the problem last season too, of course - just has to improve. A lot. And stay healthy, somehow.

Tough way to end the season. Sucks that the offense and Goff had to hand it over like that. Yeah, they probably weren’t ending with a SB win with that defense, but to have those turnovers compound the issues was just brutal.
So much for the powerful NFC North.

I love the aggressiveness of the Lions, I love that they are very successful at trick plays but they have to get to the point where they can be comfortable with punting the ball and rely on their defense. I felt like they were doing that before the Hutchinson injury.
By the time we get to the playoff game, it was like they were back in 2021 when they were playing the Rams.
