If you were alive to watch Butkus wreak havoc - there is a hint of anger (tapered with a ton of respect). :D
To this day that guy did more on two bum knees at the end of his career than most LB's can do with two good ones in the prime of their career.

And Butkus never made the playoffs, the Bears were mediocre then.

          Actually it's 50 something.
Things you remember usually stay with you your lifetime.
Like watching Tom Dempsey hit that FG from what might have been Bourbon Street....
The stadium is long gone, but damn I still remember the call of that FG - and the look on the Lions players.

I really think the Lions will get it done. Being at home with this coaching staff and the big game experience they now have it lines up for a win.

In my head, it's a coin flip. In my heart, it's a coin flip.

I just have no earthly clue how this is going to play out.

The coin has two heads - and the Lions call heads.

Win or lose, I want the Lions to be the last team standing next month in New Orleans.

Watching these last few years just shows how important good ownership is. It also reinforces just how inept WCF was as an owner.
                        3,062 carries, 15,269 yards, 5.0 yards/carry, 99 TD
                        10x Pro Bowl, 6x All-Pro, 1997 MVP, 2004 NFL HoF

                          Amen, brother.

WCF Sr. is why the UP is Packers country, and people like Annie Agar and the lady that used to be on ESPN and went to Michigan State root for other teams than the Detroit Lions.

He was inept and not willing to listen to actual football people for advice. Trust in bozos like Russ Thomas or Matt Millen will cause many people to question his Ownership, and many did in his lifetime.

Heck, Carroll Rosenbloom, the late Owner of the LA Rams in the '70s, openly mocked his Ownership skills publicly, and when he mysteriously died in 1979, the Detroit Lions were the only NFL team back then that didn't even send condolences.

The guy is dead and it is all History now.

The new Detroit Lions are not looking back.

True, but it's ironic that his daughter has been a better Owner than he ever was.

I'm not that far from being 60. I would have liked to have a football team that was just as good as Barry Sanders and Calvin Johnson back in the day.

Case in point: Look at the Chicago Bears. They have a problem with Ownership similar to what Lions fans endured with WCF. It used to be that the other teams in the NFC North didn’t have to worry about being in the cellar more than 1-2 years at the most, because the Lions would be the messed up organization.

Now, it's the Bears that have Ownership issues.

Its playoffs after this. One practice and a chance to get some rest.

All gas! Lets go. Wish I was there tonight.
