As a speculator I love taking an opposite position when the prevailing sentiment is one sided. I have watched a lot of videos where the expert talking heads favor the Vikings due to the depleted Lions D. My head tells me they may be right but my gut tells me they are not. I believe Glenn will have his guys ready and will throw in enough wrinkles to slow down the Vikings just enough.

The beauty of the Lion offense is they don't have to be perfect to score.

Special teams wins the game today.
Where are we going; and what's up with this hand basket?

Some good news for the defense. The official list isn’t out yet but Alex seems to be good to go which is big for the defense even if he’s on a limited snap count tonight.
Per Ian Rapoport, Alex Anzalone will play against the Vikings in Week 18.

This is a huge game....really I dont see the loser of this game having much of a chance in the playoffs as the 5 seed....Sure it has been done in the past a few times but in general you want the top seed and only have to win two home games (rather than 3 on the road barring upsets) to be in the super bowl.

I would never underestimate a Dan Campbell team.
With a couple of key guys back they could definitely win 3 road games

If all 3 wild card teams won they could actually get a home playoff game

The Lions would have a better chance than most, considering how rare a team with 14 wins would be the 5-seed. It wouldn't be ideal, to be sure... but being the 5-seed in and of itself wouldn't be a death knell.

Honestly with the way the Lions are built they have a better chance than most. The Lions are more better on the road than at home and are built in a way to where they can play you anywhere. These are the type of teams Sean Payton used to build with the Saints.

The Lions can make it easy on themselves by simply winning tonight but them playing on the road as the 5th seed wouldn’t be a total backbreaker. They are the definition of road warriors.

There have been something like 5-6 teams that have won the Superbowl winning all games on the road.

How many 5-seeds had a win percentage of 0.824? Because that's really the bigger factor. Usually, the 5-seed (or the 4-seed in the six-team playoff format) wasn't a team that would have been a division champion in any other division. Sure, you don't want to have to win three road games to get to the Super Bowl, but the Lions are probably the best equipped team in a long time to be able to do so if it comes to that.

Minny kicker is shaky and we have long range master bates!

The 5 seed thing does not mean your 5th. Either team here is second best in NFC.

Going on a long run should be expected. Id take a better team over home field any day.

Minnesota kicker is a rookie I believe and he’s missed some very important kicks this season which has put some pressure on Minnesota to score often because he’s not 100% trustworthy.

                                Some perspective:

Had a Falcons fan over and we watched the Falcon lose their shot at the playoffs.

I could appreciate his pain. How many times did we watch the Lions fall just short?

This year, the Lions are in regardless. Home field and the bye would be ideal, but the Lions can win it all from the wildcard.

No pressure tonight. You soggy bread sandwiches can relax.

                                It's all good.

I feel like I am watching the destruction of our democracy while my neighbors and friends cheer it on
