Yeah. I figured MN would be a non-factor this year because they would be going through rookie growing pains and far as we know, he may be a bust.I feel like I am watching the destruction of our democracy while my neighbors and friends cheer it on

McCarthy isn’t going to get a a massive return. Would the Raiders give up #6 for a guy who didn’t play coming off of an injury? Seems unlikely, but maybe a swap of firsts or a couple of second day picks, something like that.
That said, not sure Vikings deal him. They have two choices with Darnold - try to sign him to a Baker Mayfield like deal (3 for $100M) or franchise him. They franchise him they basically are making Darnold prove it for a 2nd year. If he goes off again, then they’ll have to hand out that top of the market deal. But if he steps back, they could pivot to McCarthy.

I think the odds of that happening are pretty good. Then the Vikings are starting a QB who is essentially an unproven rookie next year and will have to deal with the consequences. Either that or Danny Dimes. I like that as well
The packers will still have a vastly overrated Jordan Love and the Bears will continue to be the Bears, even with a new coach.

I think they stay with Darnold. The part about him laying an egg is valid but I also kind of think he is in the same type of position Goff was. A still young quarterback with a pedigree that turned into a punchline but still has ability. He turned into a punchline basically because he was in two shit situations. Around the league, opinions on him were very high. Belichick said this year that everyone knew Sam was good but the Jets mishandled it.
He is finally in a good situation and he is producing. He was bad last Sunday but the Lions bum rushed the Vikings and the whole team was at fault. They were not expecting that.
To me McCarthy is a huge unknown.

Cowboys hire will be interesting. Don't see that as a Ben Johnson destination, but who knows. Glenn is Texas born and raised, so maybe he's in the mix. But given their experience in Detroit, would they want to step into the Jerry Jones circus?

Ben Johnson should definitely take the call and see what the Cowboys have to say. Get a feeling of how their front office would work and the wiggle room for change. Such as if the Cowboys would hire Lance Newmark as GM and Jerry not meddling with decisions. I personally wouldn’t like it as a Lions fan, but it objectively could make sense for Johnson. Awesome football facility, top 10-ish QB in Dak, no state income tax, and Jerry has the $$$ to spend. Again, I just question if the front office would make changes and if Johnson wants the national sports media attention.
As for the Bears and Mike McCarthy. On the surface, it seems like a blah idea. I think we can all agree that McCarthy can raise the floor of a team. It’s just a question of what ceiling he has nowadays. Similar to Jim Caldwell. Acknowledging that McCarthy did win a championship, but we don’t see him as that elite tier of head coach today.AAL 2023 - Alim McNeill

People are saying that the Ravens win the Super Bowl every 12 years with a 28 year old QB and getting a kickoff return TD and totaling 34 points, and they are due because their QB is 28 and it's been 12 years.
I think the true pattern is that they win it all when the world is supposed to be ending. 2000 and Y2K, 2012 and the Mayan calendar, and finally 2024 and this fuckin' world in it's current state."Yeah, we just... we don't want them to go. So that's our motivation."
