The only thing I can think of is that they are no longer fans and just actively route against the team to somehow make up for the years they suffered through. It's very odd either way. People are weird lol.GO LIONS "24" !!

This is not Lions News per se; this is a Random Lions thought of mine.
Is Ford Field actually an advantage?
All three of the Lions' losses this year occurred at Ford Field. When I think about those games against the Buccaneers, Bills, and Foreskins, it seems like those teams really thrived in the climate-controlled, comfortable locker rooms and on the clean turf. Each of these teams stepped up their offensive performance when playing at Ford Field.
As fans, we want to believe we make a difference, but I have been to Ford Field twice recently—once for the Rams playoff game and once for the Seattle Monday Night Football game. It was loud and rowdy during both games, especially the Rams game, but neither team seemed significantly affected. We waved the "3 Down" sign enthusiastically on 3rd and 4th downs, but the opposing teams easily converted their 1st downs. While it is a great atmosphere for fans, all stadiums are loud, and at this level, the crowd noise may only have a slight impact. In reality, I feel like fans often believe their presence affects the outcome of the game more than it actually does.

These aren't your pappy's Run-N-Shoot Lions either. They are more than capable of playing in any conditions.
As for the losses, the Lions home schedule was simply tougher than their away schedule this year. The playoff game was with what amount to the second half pre-season defense.

BTW, I haven't checked the Bear's or Vikings yet, but when I checked the packers I saw that the Lions had all of the tougher teams on the road and the packers get them at home.I feel like I am watching the destruction of our democracy while my neighbors and friends cheer it on

Jesus. I just checked the Bears and Vikings.
The Bears and Lions look to be getting the short end of the stick. They have all of their playoff team opponents on the road and the packers and Viking have them all at home.

Home field is not some magic elixir to offset everything. Since the Lions became good Ford Field has become a good home field advantage, but you should look at it as more of like a tiebreaker like the the Vegas lines do.
There is this new radio personality here that came from South Carolina (Marc Ryan) and he loves to data mine. He was giving a stat that teams with artificial turf have 20 percent more injuries. Therefore they should have an outdoor stadium with natural turf and the elements. They aren't getting a new stadium, the Lions paid like 450 million for Ford Field and it hurt them financially for a long time because they were paying off the loan. The Lions and Tigers came up with this plan to move to the Foxtown area and the whole thing worked beyond anyone's imagination. The public portion of the financing for Ford Field was never going to come through for an open air stadium because they wanted to host more events (and they do). That area besides the theaters was a ghost town. Now it is thriving along with Corktown.
