Sure, I was just pointing out that despite the first game coming down to a last minute FG; the Lions offense was dominant enough to overcome two turnovers deep in their own territory. If they play a clean game, and stop biting so hard on the play action, they should be good

To me it is a coin flip...I dont think either team can stop the other....Neither the Lions nor 49ers punted last night and the Vikings are light years better this year than the 49ers offense....It probably comes down to which team makes less mistakes.....Let's face it if not for two Jake Moody missed FGs (and two terrible INTs by Purdy) the Lions may not have even won last night....Lions barely won the first game with a last second FG.

Darnold is Purdy in purple. He will make some really good plays, but he will give the ball up a couple of times a game as well. He airmails a couple of throws a game. The Vikings have been lucky that this hasn't bitten them in the ass this year as he has gotten away with it.

They will not be so lucky Sunday night.

It’s all about not giving up long touchdowns, try to tighten up coverage and force field goals in the red zone, and hope the other team makes a mistake or two. That’s all they can do. Hope they can make that work Sunday night.
That's the thrust of it. This defense is going to give up a ton of yards. It's going to give up a ton of points. They really don't have the horses to be much better than bad right now.

But when they can do is occasionally get a turnover, or make teams occasionally settle for three instead of seven. I figure if the defense can make opponents leave 13 points on the field, that's enough for the offense to do the rest. What can't happen is put the offense in situations where they have to score TDs on every single drive.

Most of the issues yesterday involved the backers. That happens when there is rust or newbies. They kind of cleaned that up in the second half but SF had abandoned the run so it's hard to tell.

I know things change for both teams from the first meeting but didn't the vikings score on a fumble recovery? Maybe the score wasn't as close as the final showed. This time around though, I expect a shoot out and a Lions win. I think that Glenn was kind of holding back the defense a bit last night and not showing too much. (At least that is what I hope was happening). The defense needed the work.

It looks as if the Lions are wearing that damn black uni Sunday night.

                          I am not a fan

I would prefer the Blueberries or the Marshmallows.

Also, Darnold has never been in a play-off game. Goff has, many in fact. Even though this is not a play-off game it will be the most important regular season game in Darnold 's life.

Let's see how he reacts to the loud crown noise on 3rd and longs ( hope there are some ). He's been good so far but this another whole level come Sunday. My money is on Goff over him.

Yep. I think Darnold is the wildcard.
