      Luckily, its a home game and maybe that could shake up Darnold a bit with noise on key 3rd downs ( if there are any )
      I personally wasn't surprised they were bad. I was astonished they were that bad. Especially in the first half, where the 49ers only faced 3rd down four times, and were averaging almost a first down on every play (I think it was like 9.7 yards per play or something to that effect). You would think that if through nothing but reps, they'd start looking better (relatively speaking). Instead, they seem to look worse with each outing.

      So, yeah, I found that a bit alarming. Fortunately, they found a little something in the second half, and got some opportunistic turnovers. As long as this defense can at least be a speed bump, they've got the offense to win games. Just give the guys on offense some margin for error.
