  • That's great but the Patriots compete in the AFC East, which was a garbage division during their run of dominance. I actually watched football during that era.

    • And my point was that it had more to do with the Patriots dominance rather than any particular "garbage" from the rest of the AFC East. Those teams weren't any more or less garbage than any other team in the league at that time.

      • Outside of the Jets run with Rex Ryan, there wasn't a team that was considered a power. The Bills made the playoffs once during Brady's time in New England and the Dolphins three times. The Jets were frequent participants early but like the other two teams they were garbage after Ryan departed the scene and still are garbage.

The Bills have just taken the Patriots spot beating up on the AFC East

        • Yeah, the East was bad.

          • Impossible to tell if it is talent, coaching, or experience but Detroit has been consistently good against different levels of competition. In the past there were rare flashes only to be exposed by “real” teams or implode vs lesser squads.

The Lions are in the playoffs and nobody WANTS to play them.

              • Brady didn’t really have any rival QBs in his division during his run if I’m not mistaken.

                  No, not really.

It's true that there were no particular "great" teams in the AFC East during the Patriots dynasty. But they weren't a "garbage" division, either... or at least no more garbage than 2/3rds of the league. You could have dropped the Pats in four or five other divisions during that same period and they'd have been pretty much just as dominant for just as long. Again, when the AFC East teams weren't playing the Patriots, they actually fared quite well over that stretch.

But when you go into any given season with 2 losses pretty much marked in before even a snap is taken, it's going to have a suppressing effect on your ceiling.

Washington is a game behind Green Bay and has the better conference record. If the Commanders catch Green Bay for WC2, that sends the Packers to Philly.

(Given the injuries on both sides, Lions/49ers is M*N*F.)
                    Let's do this again.

                    Packers/Eagles next Sunday afternoon.

Who's up for a threepeat against the Pack and Vikings before New Orleans?

                    • Fuck the packers. Looking for both them and the Vikings to lose next week.

                      Fuck 'em. Feed 'em beans

Lions can beat anybody. Kick those whiney fuckers to the curb and let their fans cry all offseason

                            • If the Pack wins, then we play them instead of Vikings-Rams winner. That's an easy yes for me.

Yes they do but I'm really concerned about beating them a third time. It would really put a HUGE damper on the year if the Packers beat us and knocked us out of the playoffs. That would be the absolute worst knowing the snug Packer fans are eating it up. The Vikings are a close second but any other team I could handle much, much better than either of those two..............but if it is to be I'm sure we'll kick the shit out of either.
                                GO LIONS "24" !!
