  • Gameday at Chicago: O Come, O Come Emmanuel

Do You Hear What I Hear? The sound of MCDC and his wise men leading the Savages from the East to the western shore of Lake Michigan?

Doomers and SOLers bemoan the Bleak Midwinter. But Come, All Ye Faithful - joyful and triumphant - O Come Ye, O Come Ye to Soldier Field. Or the man cave, or the public house, if you can’t be there in person.

With Honolulu blue in the stands and the Lions in their White Christmas unis, “Head Coach” Thomas Brown will be wondering why the home game listed on the schedule feels No Place Like Home For the Holidays.

We'll learn something from this game. If the Bears score 30+ on this defense, then we'll know the Lions are in deep, deep trouble the rest of the season.

The Lions problem is getting healthy. I feel they can make something happen on defense. The good news is that Iffy is coming back and he’s your best versatile blitzer. If they can get Anzalone back and see what you can get out of Rakestraw they can make it work but Glenn will have to play less man to man and more bent and don’t break like last year and move Branch back to his natural position, assuming we don’t get no farther big issues on the defense that can make things more difficult but until then this team will just have to find a way to win because that’s what good teams do.

The game at Ford field was a tale of two wildly different halves.....The Lions shut out the Bears and allowed only a couple of first downs in the first half....then gave up 3 TDs and got extremely lucky to walk away with a win without having to at least go to overtime.....the 4th down pass interference call against Vildor was a joke so you can aruge the game should have ended there though, but still there were cracks in the armor of the defense.

The bears are who we thought they were, and THEY let us off the hook on Thanksgiving with some terrible clock management and subsequently fired the Eberflus. ( my new verb for BAD clock management- they pulled an eberflus, etc)

We will show the depth of this team with Craig Reynolds filling in nicely for Montgomery.

Lions win a close one 24-21

It really doesn't matter how or why, the Lions just need to find a way to win the game in front of them

A beat down and 40 points would be nice but every game is unique

            just get it done boys.

BTW if the Lions lost today etc, it would not be the SOL. This is definitely a new Lions team.

This team faces a critical moment in their season. Victory is paramount, regardless of the path taken. They must summon their strength and determination. The focus should be on execution and achieving the desired outcome. A win will bring much-needed momentum.

Yep, just get the win and no major injuries. Don’t care if it’s 1 point or 20 (but 20 would be preferable!)

He might have to be. He had the skills to be a #1 guy... but who knows just how much of those he's still got after effectively not playing for two years?
