He's not a free agent for two more years, he is also very important to that offense, he is a speedster that has gotten much better as a route runner and he is a great blocker.

I will grant you he might not be as tough as you fancy yourself to be.

Do you think they should waive him this week or at the end of the year?
All you do is mislead others and name call. Not surprising.

    • Yeah whatever dude, what did you mean by "he gone!"? And then you pose the question "are they willing to pay what he is asking for?"

The asking price question is definitely a free agency question which is in two years. That's what I said. You are either very unclear on what you mean or you are moving the goal posts.

What do you mean by "he gone!"?

      • Now, it IS true that Holmes will have likely made that decision long before free agency, but I haven't seen much indication that the brain trust hasn't been anything but mostly pleased.

        • He's had a good year so far. They took him as a project because the first season was a wash. This is his second true season. He has had a lot of weird issues that have accumulated but those issues are almost not the issues that diva receivers have that teams want to get rid of. He has to quit getting suspended!

His projected 5th year option is 15.1 million. 15.1 million dollars this year would rank 30th in salary amongst wide receivers, he is currently 30th in receiving yardage among wide receivers. He is tied for 32nd in overall TDs with 5.

I guess there is a chance you don't pick up the option. But I don't think it has much to do with a fumble recovery attempt.

          • Only issue with Williams is can you count on him? Outside of his draft issue, the other issues have been self-inflicted.
If he can stop the blood-letting - yeah, he could become a key piece for the future.
Which is odd when you consider Coach Saban's comments about the kid.

He'll be fine. The coaches speak highly of him and I trust their judgement. I think they deserve that. Lions will pick up his option. He's progressed as a player. That's all the coaches ask. Get better. He's done that on the field. He has to be more responsible off the field but it's not like he was in a car race where someone was killed. His infractions are minor. They need to be addressed but by all accounts he's a good kid.

              • I'm not exactly sure Jameson Williams lives but I know it is pretty close to the U of D campus. But knowing that I found this notable:
