And apparently, Gibbs and Montgomery quietly had 110 yards rushing and two TDs tonight. So... I guess the running game was... okay?

Jacobs only had 15 more yards than Montgomery and that was with 4 extra carries, and Jacobs looked like he was running roughshod over the Lions D.

The defense played well, Green Bay was going to score and the Lions gave them two short fields

Gritty win. Thought the defense held up ok given who was on the field taking snaps. The short fields from the offense didn’t help them out.

Had bench for dline - lb not much outside of cambell. Glad Glenn dialed up some pressure and Lions could slow jacobs with effort

I did think after that failed 4th down attempt…if the lions punted and then they exchanged two extended scoring drives, then GB would be in position to close out the game with a last drive. It was kind of an extreme version of once GB got to the red zone on their last drive maybe we should just let them score and not eat up the clock

OK after discussing this game with my Cousin, he converted me over to church of Campbell going for the fourth down to seal the game up and run out the clock.
Basically, Campbell and my friends reasoning are as follows.

Who would you have rather have out there in crunch time your defense or your offense needing a 1 yard run with with they can clinch the game,?

Green bay’s offense would’ve had 40 seconds but no timeouts but if they tie the game with a long field goal there’s a possibility the Lions will not even see the ball in overtime if they lose the coin toss.

With the new kickoff rules it doesn't take much to get into field goal range.

You can tell Green Bay was ready for the 4th downs, the failed 4th down probably needed to be audibled into a play action based on the front.
