  • Ssshhhhh…. GBU Lions at Texans

I couldn’t take the pain, so I TiVo’ed the rest at halftime. I’ll watch this disaster on fast-forward. Ssshhh. Don’t tell me what happens.

(G)reat: Best coach’s interview coming out of halftime ever.
    (B)eautiful (B)ates
(U)nbelievable: If you told me at halftime that Goff would throw a couple more picks in the second half, but the Lions would still win, I would not have believed you.
Evil Parallel Universe Lions fans: You will believe in NOW! Comply or suffer the consequences.

I keep thinking of something MCDC said on Hard Knocks. "Drag them out to the abyss and drown them." He's built a team that other teams can't hang with. How do you go -3 on turnovers on the road against a first place team and win?! And every bounce was going Houston's way in the first half. The SOLs would've lost 55-7. Shoulda been at the game, I'm only 2½ hours away from NRG stadium... but Sundays are my busiest day and I raked in some cash today, so win-win.
"Yeah, we just... we don't want them to go. So that's our motivation."

        Just some tidbits.

The last player to throw at least 5 picks in a game.. 2019 - Jameis Winston

Throwing 5 picks in a game and this is the largest deficit in a game to come back in NFL history.

Teams that received 5 picks in a game before last night went 373-1-1.

GREAT : Lions & the comeback ….. WOW!

Bad: Interceptions……. BUT…… always learning Jared you superstar , so (<< legal) YOU are the man!

The monstrous UGLY: 🤦‍♂️ Was on the live micro mike podcast. In the comments section there were a few obnoxious texans giving it “hahahahahahaha” & “lolololololol” and “YOU SUCK!” …… there were even Lions fans giving it , “SOL” etc …… i just kept on typing, “not over yet, BIG 2nd half coming up” ….. Which got the response, “YEAH RIGHT HAHAHAHAHA!”

          THEN……..

          Fuckin fell asleep.

          U G L Y!!!!! 🤦‍♂️🤬

I hope those Texans have sore knees this morning after the Lions kept on munching down on their patellas til the end.

"...when Hibernian won the Scottish Cup final and that celebration, Sunshine on Leith? I don’t think there’s a better football celebration ever in the game.”

            G:
            - Lions win on prime time.
            - A win that no football team should expect. 5 INTs, but a disclosure. Only 4 of the INTs were meaningful because 1 was a Hail Mary. Still it sounds cooler and factually correct to say 5 INTs considering the Lions won the game.
            - Jake Bates.
            - Lions D. Pitched a shutout in the 2nd half. Holding to 3 FGs in the 1st half helped too.
            - Gibbs.
            - Branch.
            - McNeill
            - Davis.
            - Lions run D.
            - Luckiness.
            - James Houston signs of life.
            - Grittiness of the team as a whole to hang around and clutch this in the end despite the 1st half.

            B:
            - Goff and the OLine most of the night. Running game wasn’t its dominant self until Gibbs started to heat up. Credit to the Texans for their strategy. Goff was off. The pressure put on him due to the OLine helped caused this too. Sometimes Goff can handle it. Other times, he’s nervous and starts turning the ball over. So many Goff passes went into the ground too.
            - Arnold. Number of rough moments. Yes, we’re lucky that the late 3rd down in the 4th Q wasn’t called PI vs Arnold. At the same time, every team is eventually bailed out by the refs. Us Lions fans are well aware of a bad history of officiating. Long overdue to be on the good side of it.
            - Robertson. I think he’s just a below average nickel. Can the Lions upgrade that nickel spot with Iffy or Moseley coming back later in the season? Maybe. Don’t forget how Robertson was benched last week.
            - Lions edge pass rush in the 1st half. Then later, we started to see James Houston and Josh Paschal make some plays.

            U:
            - Lions turnovers. You can’t do that and expect to win.
            AAL 2023 - Alim McNeill

If you watched the SNF Final on peacock they interviewed BB. He said Carlton Davis told the defensive backs at halftime that he was jumping the first pass and the cover for him on the back end.

They also interviewed Zadarius Smith because he was walking around the set hyping up the Lions fans. Tony Dungy asked him about what he was coaching on the sidelines, he said he told them how to attack the Texans line calls and after that they hey started getting sacks.

Wow, very cool. Browns played Texans twice last year, losing to them in the wild card. Explains why he would know so much about them.

If they start calling him Roscoe, we will truly know he is actually Rasheed.
