  • Will the Lions Get Cleted at Lambeau? Lions at packers Game Day Thread 11/3/24

Huge divisional game today. BTW, the packers never get the respect of an upper case "p". Fuck 'em

The Lions go into Lambeau to face the packers, the mystique and the flag happy officiating crew led by Clete Blakeman.

Can they overcome the injuries and playing in Lambeau and all the homer bullshit that come with it?

    Gotdamm right they can

    Lions 42-28

Fucking time change. KIck the damn ball!!

    Let's Gooooooooooooo

One thing to note is that those cheeseheads have really struggled against tight ends this year so this could be a game where LaPorta could go off

The more NFL football I watch this year, the more I realize that the Lions are a really good team.

Even with a decimated d line, they are better than the packers. Will that translate to a win? Who knows? Strange shit happens at Lambeau and in the NFL in general. A Clete special hands to the face or defensive holding call on a key play can change everything, but overall, the Lions are a better team and I think they will roll again.

Zylstra is back as well. He can be dangerous as a pass catcher. I think he just took the Hesse job and could snag a few.

Reports out there that there could be as many as 20k Lions fans in Lambeau today.

Nah. Zylstra is back for special teams. Hesse is an H back and was temporarily cut due to all the injuries at edge. I think Zylstra is too tall to play H back.

Hesse is 6’3” so it’s not really much of a difference.

                  Maybe not thick enough then.

                    Right?

How many times during the Dark Ages did you have to switch the channel just to see a good team play? Nowadays, you watch these "good teams" on the national coverage and think, "Christ, their execution is terrible."

I know my son likes the Steelers and when I watch their offense,it makes me cringe. It is so ordinary and basic.

The weird thing was even when the Lions were bad prior to Campbell, it waa a mostly functional offense due to Stafford. They couldn't run the ball and couldn't stop anybody but they could score. But now that the Lions have this offense, the bad offenses around the league are much more noticeable.

It's really noticeable when you have quarterbacks who don't throw to the middle of the field.

I’m concerned about the d-line, for sure. Seems like a bend don’t break special. Take away big plays, which Love is good at, and make them drive. Hope to hold them to some field goals.

Defense concerns me but you hope they get more healthy towards the end of the season

Ironically, I'd argue Willis is the better guy for long, chipping away drives. Love likes the long ball, and mistakes that come with it, too much.
