Reminded me a bit of that Jags game last year when they didn't seem to want to cover Christian Kirk for like a quarter or so. But much like this game, the Lions eventually rolled.

Ridley can do that to people, really good at getting free releases and he was wide open all 1st quarter. And Rudolph knew to throw to him.

Sometimes, I think when people complain about pressure, they imagine a busted assignment which leads to a free rusher getting a sack, or they think pressure should be like when you guess the offensive play in Tecmo Bowl where the pocket collapses The Lions have a lethal offense and a defense you cannot make a living running against, that means they are going to be defending the pass a lot. In the NFL, if you be quarterback gets the ball off in less than 2.5 seconds you aren't getting to him unless they is a missed assignment.

My kid birthday party today so couldn't watch it live. Watch it a couple of hours later without knowing the result.

This team is so fun to watch right now. Defence, offense passing/rushing, special teams, trick plays. Everything works!

National TE day, both TE score a TD!
Montgomery for a pass TD...Kalif Raymond with unreal returns a TD and a receiving TD. Defence with crazy takeaways. Goff with 3 TD with only 85 yds.

          This is fun!

As bad as our pass rush are the Lions defensive are ranked somewhere middle of the pack in the league right now believe it or not from the research I did. They are currently around #18-20. Even I was surprised. They actually been pretty good at stopping the run and covering guys when they had too compared to some of the other teams that can’t cover a cold.

The defense isn’t that great but it isn’t the worse in the league. They are just about average which seems just about right. If we can get guys back maybe the defense can be a bit better, but losing Hutch has hurt.

G: First time I’ve ever seen a 6-1 Lions team. I’m not particularly young.
B: Decker is clearly playing hurt.
U: Thought of wasting the season if Brad can’t cook up some help from the edge. Pascal’s return will help. Uche? Za’Darius Smith? Key?

Going into the today's game the Lions were 4th in the NFL in defensive DVOA, 4th in pass defense DVOA, 12th in defensive rushing DVOA. 9th in points against and 18th in total yardage.

Teams that score like the Lions do are going to have funky defensive stats. I expect the stats to go down but over the next month.

Yeah, this is just gonna be a weird game for stat nerds. The Titans defensive yards allowed is going to still be among the league's best even after giving up 52 points.

Yeah that's why DVOA is a key stat, it takes into account for the context of the game. Straight counting stats will paint weird pictures.

Fun fact time: The Titans actually still have the best defense in the league by total yardage.

But they are now tied for 30th in scoring defense.

Fun fact #2: At the end of the first half, the Lions average starting field position was the Titans' 43-yard line.
