    Interesting on Paschal . .

While Paschal is listed with an illness, he explained to the media (specifically MLive’s Ben Raven) on Friday that he is being held out of this game because of something that came up during one of his annual cancer screenings. In 2018, Paschal was diagnosed with malignant melanoma in his right foot and was out of football for a year. He has been cancer-free since his treatments and assured Raven that the cancer has not returned. He would go on to explain that this situation revolved around his strength, and declined to elaborate more than that, beyond noting that he was hoping to return to action next week.

Pascal said his is from complications from when he was dealing with cancer in college. Doubt they're related.

Mono is no joke. I knew someone who missed a whole year of school because of it

My brother had it but he was only down about 3 weeks.

HA! I don’t even remember the context of the joke, just that it was from back before I took my hiatus from the forum; back when there was a lot of beef between forumites.

Titans defense is among the league's best, though being without Sneed is good news for us. Their offense has been hot garbage with lots of turnovers.

If our defense struggles, this game could get really uncomfortable really quick.

Good test because if the Lions can put up a good number of points and look good doing it without a Jamo they really can score on anyone. Dan will make sure these guys don’t get into a trap game.

Lions edge spot is a problem. 10 days to figure something out. The top 5 players that you would have expected to be getting snaps on the edge are out in this game. Hutchinson, Davenport, Paschal, Cominsky, and Barnes (SAM edge snaps). A little good news that Paschal should be back soon and Cominsky maybe late in the season.
                        Again like mentioned last week:
                        - Pay close attention to what the edge players can do when left on an island. 4 man pass rush.
                        - Be mindful of the Lions blitz. Can the blitz get home? If it doesn’t get home, what does it do to the defense?
All sorts of issues can arise when edge players can’t produce. It’s why edge is probably the 3rd most important position in the NFL. QB, OT, edge.
Which brings me to the moral of the story and how we’re still waiting for a trade. Sadly, I’m sure teams are driving up the price because they know the Lions MUST make a trade or two. That’s probably why we haven’t seen a trade at this time.

As for this game… I expect the Titans D to make things a little frisky. You can’t say with certainty how any NFL game will go. When compared to college football where obviously the top programs can destroy the bottom ones. If everything goes right, this game should be like Falcons at Lions last season. I will guess it’s a pesky close game though. Disappointing how Mayo Man isn’t expected to start… boring…

Not saying the Titans defense isn’t a solid unit, don’t lead the league by pure chance. but they have had the benefit of playing, let’s say, questionable QBs and offenses. Caleb in his first game, Rodgers, Miami without Tua, GB with Willis (and still got smoked). A middling Indy team with Flacco.

Their defensive stats are weird. The defense is near the top of the league in yard allowed, but in the bottom half in points allowed. They are among the worst in turnovers, both for and against. Makes me think the yards allowed stat is skewed by giving their opponents a lot of short field opportunities.

So far Sneed has been hot garbage for the Titans (38 PFF), I'm not sure that's a break for the Lions.
