I don't expect any big moves.

I think we are going to dance with who brung us.
I don't think the Lions are going to make any quick, panic moves. No.

But if it becomes clear at the trade deadline that the pass rush without Hutch isn't the getting the job done and the Lions start losing games because of it? Maybe.

I think this is the right move

It just amazes me how many here think standing pat is the option. I didn't think that Participation Trophies were the goal. I hope Dan and Brad don't think this way. That said, if they don't go out and get a premium pass rusher it shows they're too married to their JAGs and "culture" and not serious about winning the big prize.

        The window is open NOW.

Not expecting them to make a big move is not the same as thinking it’s the right approach.

People want to throw out names like Crosby and Hendrickson but there is zero indication either of those guys are even available. You can’t just lob all of your picks at somebody.

There could be a deal out there for a vet but look to aged players or guys in the last year of contracts with bad teams.

People were bitching last year that they stood pat and didn't trade for Chase Young. Chase Young stunk last year, he stinks this year. I'm all for trading for an impact defensive end but I don't think one that good is going to be available.

Maxx Crosby will be this year's Danielle Hunter where people think he is available when he clearly isn't.

They did just score 89 points for the last two games. After Hutch went down, the Cowboys didn't start giving Dak time. He was still getting batted around like a pinata. Glenn as a DC wants to play man.and send blitzes. He did that today and the Cowboys had no answer.

We will know more next week because maybe the Vikes are the first good team they will have played. It's hard to tell because the Cowboys look utterly lost.

Can you imagine what kind of high this team and the fan base would have been on going into Minnesota after today's totally disrespectful ass kicking of the Cowboys if it wasn't for the damn injury?

The defense is a lot better and a lot deeper than it was last year. Is it improved enough at all the other positions to make the loss of Hutch a wash? No fucking clue yet.
There’s no way it will be a wash.

It's not the option. Brad Holmes is burning up the phone lines. That offensive show was too good to pass up a shot at the Superbowl.

I truly and honestly don't think he's burning up any phone lines right now. He may make a move, but only after some time to decompress and decide exactly who would be the best fit that he can get at a price that won't break the bank.

I think they will get somebody but it’s not going to be Crosby or any other AAA talent.

The franchise has been carrying an open spot on the 53 man roster, meaning they only have 52 players on the roster. That strikes me as guy high on his own players or high on his own supply but definitely not a guy burning up the phone line tonight.

The deadline in November 5th, that would be the time for it to heat up.

At the very least, Holmes is going to see how this defense looks without Hutchinson before he starts making any calls. If he does pull the trigger, it's hard to say just how big he'll swing. Some will correctly point out that he's never taken that home run swing on a trade before, but the Lions really haven't been in this situation under his tenure before, either; with a genuine Super Bowl contender looking at a potentially massive hole at a very important position.

Yep, you find out how good the defense is without Hutch. They play @ Vikings, vs. Titans and @ Packers before the deadline. Two of those teams are the most likely competitors for the NFC crown and are teams that can test your passing defense and that's what we are talking about with this loss of Hutch.

And importantly, very few teams think they are truly out of it on October 14th that they are dangling players. He probably is burning the phone lines right now on edges that are not signed or on practice squad guys. None of those guys are difference makers.

Used to be that we were a dysfunctional organization with a couple super stars and coaches that just got in the way.

Now I unironically find myself saying, good thing the coaches can't get injured.

Time to get Hutch a ring.
"Yeah, we just... we don't want them to go. So that's our motivation."
