Come on Brad, this is the best shot at a SB title we've ever had. They need something more than they have.
8 days to do something… 😇. Come on, Brad. Don’t settle for DPJ 2.0 or nothing this season.

If Za’Darius Smith is added by tomorrow as an example, maybe he could play a few snaps vs his former team in a huge game vs GB.

Would imagine everyone agrees that Brett Veach (Chiefs) and Howie Roseman (Eagles) are consensus top 3-5 GMs in the NFL. No argument there. Look at how aggressive they have been at the trade deadline.
Chiefs have already made two trades to fill up egregious holes on their roster this season. WR and edge depth. I’m sure the Eagles are thinking about it with their winning streak. Sneaky 5-2 record.

    • This guy is apparently local radio?

      • He's the co-host with Mike Valenti who seems like he doesn't shit on the radio but is apparently somewhat plugged in. But I've never known him to break news.

        • The Rico from Valenti and Rico? Edit: Ah, thanks Froot.

I did see Dan Campbell’s press conference though and he gave a notable response to a question about making a trade. All of the local beat writers wrote about it this evening.

Bet something happens by tomorrow morning as a guess. Reading between the lines when it comes to information from the last few days. Glaringly obvious that it would make the roster better by adding a Smith, Landry, or Key (whoever it is). Losing 4 edge players would do that to any team…

          • Belichick said something interesting about the Uche trade. He said New England got less than they would have if they traded him last week but the deal fell through.

            • I’m not a Rico fan. He constantly crapped on the Lions for talking about building the culture and rolled his eyes at Campbell even going into last season. He thought they should have taken Thibodeaux over Hutchinson. The moment Thibs had a three sack game he implied the Lions really screwed up. Last year he said they should draft Jalen Carter and when they didn’t he said the Jameson Williams issues led to them taking a safer choice. He also mocked the Lions culture saying if Campbell had built something so special that they should be able to take on someone with questionable character. And early in the season when LaPorta and Gibbs hadn’t really accumulated any stats and the Eagles looked dominant, he again implied that the Lions screwed up by not choosing talent and going with “fit”.

Yeah, I've only heard bits of that show, but they both appear to be dumbasses.

Thanks to the explosion of decent sports podcasts for sports like the NFL, and as a prime example the people that frequent this Forum-- and then told me about other podcasts, I don't have to listen to their trash.

Checking out iTunes, YouTube, or whatever gives everyone better choices than 97.1 FM.

Yeah, the way DC talked made me think they could have like a deal in principle but maybe they are trying to work out some contractual stuff or clarify some conditions on draft picks.

I stopped listening to Valenti years ago. I listen to Karsh and Anderson(best show on 97.1) from 10:00----2:00 then I listen to Ermanni and Edwards on YouTubeTV ion my Rocu. Much better.
                      GO LIONS "24" !!

                        Agree.

The Snacks Harrison trade was the last time the Lions made a big move near the deadline. I remember it happening during a Wednesday morning during a job interview. My interview ended and it was fun getting hit with the news afterwards. Tons of texts and articles to read all at once. Sudden excitement.

Therefore, wouldn’t be surprised if the Lions announce something during my big meeting today. Between 10am-1pm EST. Wait for it. Though today is Tuesday and not a Wednesday…

                        • I took Campbell's reaction as mocking all the people who were eagerly desperately looking for any trade news.

I'm at the point where I've accepted Holmes isn't going to make a move, and is going to stand pat with what he has. History will judge if that proves to be the right move or not.

I think he makes some sort of deal. He's just not panicking or rushing to a poor decision.

That's pretty much what MCDC said this am on the radio. Something about the beat not taking "we'll see" as an answer.

The cheap moves were there. If he was interested in a low round pick for a rental, it'd already be done.

No one is coming. Holmes isn't cooking. It is what it is.
