  • It's going to be Uche I think.

But let's not kid ourselves, the chances you get some real solution on deadline day is not great. Chase Young stunk last year for the Niners, he looked like a clown in the NFC Championship game on the Gibbs TD.

    • Landry didn't show up today. We don't need him.

      • Sweat seemed (and seems) to do pretty well for Chicago.

It's all a matter of knowing who would be a good fit, and not having ridiculous expectations. No one is going to replace Hutch. But the right someone can provide a good deal more than what is currently on the roster.

        • Still thinking Clowney or Z Smith make the most sense. The Browns won today and Smith had a sack and a couple of TFLs, would have been better if they lost.

          • What I would say is if by some bizarre circumstance, the Lions are able to swing a good trade for someone like Crosby, cool. Pull the trigger. But that's a dream scenario that simply isn't happening.

Outside of that, a mid or low-round pick for a one year rental should be there and will still be a significant upgrade to what is truly a dismal pass rush.

            • Trade for an edge or two and the Lions get to the Super Bowl at this rate.

What about Arden Key? Why hasn’t he been mentioned? I’m sure there’s a reason, but I haven’t thought about it until this afternoon. Key looked better than Landry today.

Heck, trade for both Key and Landry today. Have them skip the flight home.

              • Last week I said Houston was done. He showed a little something today though he never finished, As much as I want a monster pass rusher just because I want the Lions to absolutely annihilate everyone and win it all easily (we deserve it). Something tells me if it happens it won't be easy with all shiny things....Not expecting a savior not already on the team.

                • Agree that Houston took a step in the right direction today. I noticed him shedding a few blocks vs the Titans OTs.

Though I would be mindful that the Titans RT situation has been a disaster this season. Also the Titans LT a rookie. Not the best sample size to analyze from if looking at this game.

                  • The Lions tried to sign Arden Key prior to the 2023 season

                    • Yeah, Key is a good target. He hadn’t done anything until the last couple of games. But he’s got the length they like, if not the weight.

There we go. Therefore a reasonable idea.

                        • But Key might not be available. I think they are going to try and get someone but we have no idea who is available and last year's deadline set some expectations that I'm not sure is realistic. Teams really don't give up ends at the deadline. I believe last year was an aberration. It's pretty clear Uche is available as he was a healthy scratch and that name has been bandied about.

I'm not even sure the Cleveland guys will be available, they no longer have to send Watson out there and voila they beat the Ravens. The seventh seed is up for grabs in the AFC.

Uche to the Chiefs. He was indeed on the trade block…

I guess the Chiefs are serious about winning a Super Bowl this season… not that they need a 4th in 6 years… very excessive amount of winning championships.

                            • I didn't love the Uche fit here for the Lions but it would have been a cheap pass rusher to ad.

Come on Brad, this is the best shot at a SB title we've ever had. They need something more than they have.
