Jack Campbell was one of the highest rated PFF grades in defense Monday with a 71.5. For the year he has a 67.1 grade. He's part of the reason why teams don't have success running against them. He's also 24 years old, think of how much Alex Anzalone flashed at that age.

Causing fumble was huge. Had some big sacks last season. LB depth is legit and we are benefitting from it biw that Barnes is hurt.

For a Mike to get pass break ups, you are normally talking on targets to the tight end. In 4 games so far the opponents tight ends have been non existent for the most part. Looking at the box scores in 4 games right ends have caught 10 balls on 19 targets for 110 yards.

That's one pretty significant improvement from the last couple of years. TE's killed the Lions for a long time.

Chem, I think you're getting old, talking about shit from 10 years ago like it was yesterday. That was "10-man" Teryl Austin. It was noticable under him because the defense was historically great against the run. Under Fatty Matty Patty, everything sucked, everyone was beating us, so opposing TE play didn't stick out.

Edit - I do love your takes, though. Definitely agree with your takes this week on the matchup we had this game vs Seattle.

Nah, TE's had been carving up the Lions defense pretty regularly until around 2022, and the run that really heralded the Lions rise. That's not exactly an accident, either. Even when the defense was shaky the last couple years, they were much stronger fundamentally, especially at linebacker, and it showed in how TEs abruptly weren't able to catch a five yard route and find themselves with 20 yards of empty space around them.

Look at us, arguing about how badly the team used to suck. MCDC wins it all and they may build his statue before he even retires.

Ron Hall TE used to kill the Lions, so when he became available in free agency the Lions snapped him up and it was a celebrated move. It was in the middle of the 90s glory years. Needless to say, he underwhelmed as a Lion. In the two seasons he played as a Lion he caught 21 passes for 189 yards with zero TDs.

Any Lions HC who wins the franchise first SB - that should be instant bronze.
Nearly 70 years of title drought will do that.
Added: They probably already called the sculptor after the Lions winning 2 playoff games last year. :D

They would build his statue before the start of training camp 2025.
