  • Isn’t About Time We Beat These Motherflappers? Lions vs Seachickens 9/30 Game Week Thread

Seattle has won 6 straight and 9 of last 10 vs the Lions, including the last 3 of the last 4 matchups in Detroit. I’m tired of losing to these guys. Both teams nursing a lot of injuries so going to be about that Next Man Up.

Edit: and I screw up the “theead” title! Off to a great start!

You got me before I fixed it. 3 of last 4 in Detroit. Point stands. Already dropped one at home.

The Seattle coach was Baltimore’s DC last year and they really disrupted the Lions offense. I doubt Seattle has the same defensive talent but he could pose a problem.

I was more concerned with the Cards game than this one. Still a concern however.

                    Lions in all black .
I know you young whippersnappers think this is awesome -
when I see the lions in black, I think of Millen.

I still remember the illegal batting out in Seattle off the Calvin fumble that literally screw the lions and cost us the game.

Got to win this game guys! Seattle has played garbage teams with garbage quarterbacks, so their 3 and 0 record is a farce.

                    Lions pound them 28-10

I mean, if I'm the Seahawks, I'm just looking at the past two games for a roadmap on how to beat the Lions. Dink and dunk. The Lions defensively will have to come up with a better tactic than the "Bend but Don't Break" style they've been using. In 95% of cases, it works well enough, but the Seahawks are in the 5% that can, and will, win that way. They are simply a terrible matchup for what the Lions want to do defensively. I expect that Glenn knows this, and finally has the overall talent level that will allow for some wrinkles that he couldn't do in the past.

Offensively, they can't make too many mistakes. In both games the last two years, Goff got baited into backbreaking pick-sixes that put the Lions on their back foot and not able to catch up. He has to be smarter with the ball, and much more accurate. Unfortunately, he's been neither the first three weeks of this season.

This is gonna be one of those games where the first to 30 wins, I suspect.

I wholeheartedly agree on Goff. I think the defense is doing pretty good considering all the turnover, good turnover, and players learning to play together. Again I was more concerned with the defense against the Cards and their very mobile QB. They handled that pretty good after the first series. I'm sure they will have a different game plan against the Hawks. One that works hopefully.

But even last year, they got a pick-6, recovered a fumble on the first play of the 2nd half, and still had to win the OT toss.

I don't think MCDC can't beat the Seahawks. He just can't beat Carroll, who is gone now.

I know we must've worn them more than once, but the only specific game I recall was a win vs Tampa, Megatron got a long rushing TD down the right sideline.

Do NFL rules require every team to use a color rush uni, or is it merely encouraged? I always hated the all grey. I don't like seeing white jerseys at home (Fatty Matty Patty made us do that once because we had the Cowboys at home and I guess he thought it was an advantage to make them wear their colors, since they never do...?). So there's no other color I'd want. I think the black unis look pretty dope. Most of all, MCDC wanted them and earned them, and also MCDC wore them.

The injuries are a concern, depth will be tested. I am not a fan of early bye weeks, but we need it now and it could not come at a better time.
