Anxious to see Devon Witherspoon play....he was almost a lIon! I dont know if they will match him up with Amon Ra or with JaMo...I am guessing JaMo I dont think he plays in the slot.

Seahawks are down to a their 3rd string RT and brought in Jason Peters for a look see this week. Along with their starting DT's being banged up along with Walker, it could be a pretty even trade off with injured starters.
Geno Smith has been a Lions destroyer the last 2 years - almost 650 yards, 4 TD/0 picks and 77% completion. And the Lions only sacked him once. They need to get to him and not let him get rhythm with those WRs.

I'm not good with predicting this stuff. Mike MacDonald pwned our offense last year with Baltimore. The Seahawks have had our number in general. We are banged up. If Ragnow can't go, that's a huge loss.
All that and maybe it means we finally break all those trends and win anyway. I mean, with the way this NFL season is going.

I get the Black= Millen vibe, but I think I'm over it. These uniforms look different and I love the blue helmet. I wish they wore it more often, hell, maybe all the time.
So I guess I'm past it. These unis are pretty sharp.I feel like I am watching the destruction of our democracy while my neighbors and friends cheer it on

I get it that old guys like me like blue and sliver at home and white and silver on the road.
no blue pants or white pants or monochrome .
But damn it in my whole 50 plus years of being a lions fan, those traditional uniforms got me losses in the playoffs during the billy sims, Barry and Stafford years.
I will embrace change because last year was almost like a dream to me. Prior to that all I had was Detroit over Dallas 38-6 in January 1992.
Shit monochrome black is fine if they beat the hell out of Seattle.

The greys were ugly looking. I like the blue helmet, but not with the greys. The helmet being the only different color looks weird to me, like the Vikings road look. Ugly. The old logo on the new helmet was also unsettling. We should use the old logo for Thanksgiving throwbacks instead of just a blank helmet.
The black unis dont entirely make me think of Millen. More than anything it would be black facemasks and black trim that reminds me of him. His "subtle" attempts to Raiderize us annoyed me more than anything else. The black jerseys always looked good.
Also I'm glad we finally changed the jersey number font. That old font was ugly and hard to read."Yeah, we just... we don't want them to go. So that's our motivation."

The problem with black unis is the design is limited due to the Raiders and Panthers. It's hard not to look like either team. If I designed them, I'd want to accentuate the silver but then it looks like the Raiders. That's unfortunate because Al Davis used silver because he liked the Lions uniforms.
In my opinion most of the time you should hold judgment until you see them in action. I just remember not liking some of the Spartan alternate jerseys until I saw them on the field.

The Lions defensively will have to come up with a better tactic than the "Bend but Don't Break" style they've been using. In 95% of cases, it works well enough, but the Seahawks are in the 5% that can, and will, win that way. They are simply a terrible matchup for what the Lions want to do defensively. I expect that Glenn knows this, and finally has the overall talent level that will allow for some wrinkles that he couldn't do in the past.
Offensively, they can't make too many mistakes. In both games the last two years, Goff got baited into backbreaking pick-sixes that put the Lions on their back foot and not able to catch up. He has to be smarter with the ball, and much more accurate. Unfortunately, he's been neither the first three weeks of this season.
This is gonna be one of those games where the first to 30 wins, I suspect.
If I’m Seattle I’m coming into Ford Field wanting to run the football and force my defense to pressure Goff especially over the middle. I’m going to take away St. Brown, LaPorta is kind of banged up right now so I don’t got to worry about him too much, stack the box and take away the run and force Goff to beat me because chances are he’s probably going to throw me a pick.
This could be the game where guys like Tim Patrick, Raymond, and Jamo could have a good game if they can beat someone which they will have a opportunity too.Last edited by Lionsfan123; September 26, 2024, 10:55 AM.
