  • The only way Zinter is dropping past the third round at absolute worst is that his injury turned out to throw up some massive red flags.

Nah. He probably is a top 15 OL overall. But Guards to have a tendency to slip anf this is a very deep T class (tackles usully go earlier than you think). There are also two very good centers in this draft (Barton and JPJ). I can see Zinter still being on the board when Day 3 starts
2012 Detroit Lions Draft: 1) Cordy Glenn G , 2) Brandon Taylor S, 3) Sean Spence olb, 4) Joe Adams WR/KR, 5) Matt McCants OT, 7a) B.J. Coleman QB 7b) Kewshan Martin WR

      • Dude was and is arguably the best OG in the draft on the measures of talent and production. His injury will hurt his stock, but not nearly as much as you're hoping.

Unless his injury revealed some unforeseen recovery issues, any hope that he'll drop to lower than bottom of the 2nd round is pure wishcasting. It's not going to happen.

        • What Whitley said and also that particular site has Zinter ranked lower than usual. If you go to other mock draft simulators or places with complete prospect rankings, Zinter is ranked higher.

It's a multi-user draft, but it still has most teams being taken by a computer using their ranking. There is one simulator that uses several rankings, but it's single user and requires a subscription to do trades, so I don't use it much.

Honestly, it's an application waiting for someone to do it well. An ideal app would allow multi-users, but also use different rankings for different teams. It also would have some sort of scoring system. As it is, you finish, you barely have time to see who you drafted and that's it. A scoring system would allow competition and give participants goals.

          • I love Zinter but I wanted OCyrus Torrence last year. He’s going to be an awesome pro guard. The Bills scored on that one

Dude was a sure fire first rounder

            • Without the injury I’d say Zinter is maybe a top 50 prospect. He’s strong and skilled but not the most athletic dude. Would that get him into the first round? Maybe. Zinter is a guard only prospect, so he doesn’t offer the versatility of some of the other guys that are in the mix in that back of the first/early 2nd.

              • Without the injury, I could have seen Zinter going in the back half of the first, early second. OG specialist hasn't really been the limiting factor a lot of people want it to be.

Unless there is something about that injury that is throwing up red flags, maybe he drops into the early third, I guess. A broken leg isn't like a spinal injury or a concussion history. It shouldn't scare GMs to push him too far down their draft boards. He might be there at #73, but dropping all the way into the fifth round? That's just ridiculous.

Nah he won't drop into the fifth but I can see him late third/early 4th.

Those were my thoughts as well. Hell I still see him in the back of the second or 3rd round. Those OG contracts are starting to be quite substantial and Zinter has really strong football character. I hope he ends up on the Lions

                        O’Cyrus Torrence was picked 59th.

Yup, I know. Torrence was a sure first rounder that fell and he'll be a future pro bowler. This off season the OG was reset in free agency and massive contracts were handed out. Guard might have been a devalued position but I have a feeling that's going to change. Its a stacked OL draft class and Holmes has foresight. Our OL is what fuels this team, he'll keep it stocked.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding something. It looks like you traded 29 to the Eagles for 22 straight up.

For some reason it didn't list future picks I gave up for 2025 4th rounders (ours and theirs)
