Yeah, he was pretty bad for much of the year.

Kirk Cousins' six-year run in Minneapolis is over. The veteran quarterback has agreed to a four-year contract with the Atlanta Falcons, his agent, Mike McCartney, announced on Monday.

          Ball is in Vikings court

Tannehill, Garoppolo & Fields if they want a veteran.

They have the draft assets to get 3rd or 4th QB prospect. Probably means they aren't playoff contenders this season.

edit: Fields to Minnesota makes football sense. Fields is only 25. Nix is 24, Daniels & Penix are 23. Supposedly you can get Fields for a late 2nd at this point.

I can’t see the Bears sending Fields to a team in the division.

Yeah, I agree. That's what I meant when I said it made football sense. If they were in different conferences, I bet that deal gets made.

The fact that Chicago is having a difficult time gettting value for Fields might open the door a crack for Minnesota. Minnesota GM is defnitely not afraid to deal within the division.

Sam Darnold is your placeholder QB in Minny. Or at least in competition to be - no guarantees with that guy.

So, we have Aaron Jones in Minny, Deandre Swift in Chicago, and David Montgomery in Detroit.

All we need is for Dalvin Cook to wind up in Green Bay and the NFC North Musical Chairs will be complete!

                      Exactly.
Seems like Denver and Minnesota are likely to draft QBs from the JJ McCarthy, Bo Nix, and Michael Penix Jr. tier.

Vikings seem to have been left holding the bag....Darnold is not better than Cousins.

I think they planned to draft a QB this year regardless and didn't want to overcommit to Cousins. This just accelerates the new QB taking over a bit most likely.
