Goff > Purdy and Prescott IMO.

Safely say Goff is a top 8-12 QB in the NFL right now. Somewhere in that range. Have to factor what a QB brings to a team and the situation around him. Eye test.

Have you watched Stafford play this year? It doesn't look like last year....and he's doing it with a no-name WR group led by a 5th rd pick

Doesn't looks as if he is going to be able to stay healthy anymore, though. That's too bad. A healthy Stafford is fun to watch.

I'm still not sold on Burrow, but the talking heads sure are. Of course they've been selling Love as the next great packers QB too
Can't disagree, like I said, I can mix and match both 2nd & 3rd tiers.

Burrow's results are very hard to argue with. Won a dominating Natty with LSU in his senior year, was injured to finish his rookie year and has led the Bengals to the Superbowl & AFC Championship despite having a less than ideal team around him. If you call Allen a top-tier QB then it's hard not to include Burrow when he's beaten Allen's teams the last two years despite arguably less overall talent.

I get it...but outside of Detroit Goff gets less love. Walk into a bar in Florida or Ohio...and they're taking Dak.

Purdy is probably the weakest on that list, but it's hard to argue with what he's accomplished in a short time. and my original assessment was that Goff was an 8-12 QB...there's 10 names on that list, if you pick 1 or 2 off I'm still standing by it.

When you look around the league at some of the other QB situations, it makes it easier to say yes to giving GOff the money.......We have no idea if Hendon Hooker will ever be much more than a backup.....Daniel Jones getting the money he did kinda made it a tough situation for the Lions.....The Lions pretty much have to pay him more than Jones gets....The danger is not all of these big contracts are working out....Kyler Murray has been a disaster since he got the big contract, but I just dont see alot of other good options for the Lions other than paying Goff.

It doesn't matter if you think he's 7th or 12th. The guy who's been playing QB in Detroit for the last couple of seasons is getting paid.

Dak is good, he gets a lot of guff nationally but it's hard to tell if the Cowboys lack of success in the playoffs is due to him or the team. Everyone nationally always overrates the talent on the team, they have a few big games early and the bandwagon fills up. They had a good year last year but I tend to think they are less talented than the Niners or Philly.

Purdy has done very well but he's throwing to open guys like you see in college games and he can rely heavily on the defense. He is also small and has a small resume. Not yet for him.

Big Stafford fan here, he has always elevated average receivers even though the naysayers didn't acknowledge it. But he is already banged up. But I think Goff is elevating receivers, St. Brown was a 5th round pick, Reynolds and Raymond were freely available. If you are basing it on national opinion, then Goff will always be lacking. He is always going to be Jared Goof unless he wins a title. Some people even went so far to say they only took Goff and his salary for the extra 1st round pick.

The issue isn't if he is 7th or 12th, rank the quarterbacks 15th through 32nd. Then start envisioning to the team trying to compete with one of those dudes.

Well, what about the people in Ohio and Florida, surely they matter in all this, right?

You guys are missing my point…this isn’t a blank check.

im really happy you guys all want to give Goff Mahomes money because he’s put together a couple of good years with a great OL and running game. But when we’re paying him 50m+ per year…the talent around him might not be so good…will he still be?

you don’t pay #1 money to the #10 guy

I'm not missing any point, the point is moot if that's not how the league works. The quarterback who gets the biggest contract isn't based on who's best, it's based on who is next.

Your plan last year was to ditch Goff for Mayfield or Jimmy G because you would save money. The plan before that was to draft Malik Willis.

They are trying to win now and have a chance to win.

You make your case that he’s not worth a $45M a year or more contract, but that’s what you are going to have to pay a top 10 QB. $45M average would make him tied for the 8th highest paid QB in the league. And that’s before Lawrence gets his monster deal.

I really stepped on a soft spot for you fellas didn’t I?

Goff is replaceable. Yes he’s played well. No he’s not worth 50 million because he’s next man up (even if froot thinks this is how the league works).

Based on how this team is coached…I don’t know that Hooker couldn’t do just as well (maybe he’d even compete a deep pass now and again).

Again, saying he is replaceable is much easier than replacing him. I don't if it is a soft spot for us or a blind spot for you. Are you replacing him with Deshaun Watson?
