Thanks. I mean I didn't really meant to take this away from Future and others we have lost along the way. He was the first person I knew well since my grandma when I was kid, first in my age group. So first time I had to deal with my own mortality. I mean I miss him but life moves on. Just like I was saying, now its got me worrying about how I am go, will I get any notice? Future's passing is another one of those. Not my age, but still no real advance warning, makes one think of the people you tangently touch, the impact or lack of impact of ones passing. Like reddit I couldn't care less if the people I communicate know I pass. But this forum is one of the few, even if I didn't, or haven't participated in any group outing. That I would think I'd rather they know if I am gone.

        • I know the big fella would've loved that one!

Am I right in saying the last Lions game he saw was Rodgers getting his heart ripped out at Lambeau in the last game of the '22 season?

            Fuck.

That month was a gut punch. I lost my brother. And I lost a forum brother.

To all my forum brothers and sisters.... I love you guys. Even those times I'm being a dick. I just have opinions sometimes.

It's just my fucked up way of saying "Allow me to retort.".

I hate not being able to share the experience. I know the feeling this would bring our friend, however. And I appreciate that feeling, on behalf my good friend.

            • I lost my mom over the summer. I was glad she got to see the playoff wins in January. She wasn’t a huge sports fan but she watched in the background as me and my dad would watch.

                • Sorry for your loss Tom. I lost my mom recently as well Tom. Sept 14th. She loved her Tigers. She tried to talk other sports with me, bless her soul, but she didn't have the interest. The Tigers were her team. Too bad she missed the playoff run.

                      • Just to say sorry to Tom & DanO-Boy on the loss of your moms. 🤦‍♂️ Not good at all. Really hope time is the healer for you both.

Myself, big bro & little sis believe our mom is losing her marbles slightly. Can be quite funny at times. My sister was there early this morning and she sent me this text.

Mum: “Oh for gods sake, Charlie, that Trump is gonnae win the thing. Whats gonnae happen?”

Dad: “I don’t bloody know, Margaret. 🤷‍♂️ Probably absolutely nothing. Like usual.”

Was laughing my a$$ off. Could visualise that conv.
"...when Hibernian won the Scottish Cup final and that celebration, Sunshine on Leith? I don’t think there’s a better football celebration ever in the game.”

                        • Thanks, guys. We lost her on August 19. She was in the hospital for about 8-9 weeks. By the end we were just happy she went peacefully. She and my dad celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary in February.

Same here. My mom had been sent home from assisted care. Dad had signed the "do not revive" papers. It was only a matter of time. Mom died in peace at home. My father, myself,, my siblings, and several grandchildren were all there. We were glad she died peacefully and were all able to be there. She was 88. Good long life we celebrated.
