LOS ANGELES (Reuters) – Film writer and director John Hughes, whose credits include "The Breakfast Club" and "Ferris Bueller's Day Off," has died of a heart attack at age 59, his spokesman said on Thursday.
Hughes died suddenly while taking a morning walk in New York City, according to a statement from his spokesman.
"And I'm a million different people from one day to the next..."
Yeah, Hughes made some of my all-time favorite movies. Breakfast Club, Weird Science, Planes Trains and Automobiles, Bueller, Great Outdoors, Uncle Buck, Dutch, Pretty in Pink - all classics.
Last year, I had my 14 year old nephew over for the night. I was shocked to learn that he'd never even heard of Ferris Bueller's Day Off! So we watched it that evening and he loved it. A classic that transcends generations.
The only thing missing from that Marvin Jones touchdown reversal is that it wasn't a first round playoff game.
