Onto sadder losses. Apparently Billy Mays has passed. This is depressing. That could sell me poop and for some reason I would think it was the greatest product in the world.
I have never bought the stuff he sold, but now I wish I had.
Billy Mays, the bearded infomercial pitchman with the trademark shout, has died in his sleep at home.
"Everyone [who knew] him was aware of his larger-than-life personality, generosity and warmth," the Discovery Channel (which aired his series, Pitchmen with Anthony Sullivan) said in a statement. "Billy was a pioneer in his field ? He will be greatly missed as a loyal and compassionate friend. Our deepest sympathies go out to his family at this time of incredible loss."
Authorities tells the Associated Press that the 50-year-old was pronounced dead Sunday morning after being found by his wife, Deborah Mays. No foul play is suspected. An autopsy is expected to be performed by Monday afternoon.
The married father of two cut his teeth selling goods on the Atlantic City boardwalk in the 1980s, allowing him to develop a booming voice for such products as OxiClean and Kaboom . For some pitches, "My voice has gone for 16 hours straight," he told PEOPLE in March.
Always proud of his work, Mays added that he never endorsed a product he didn't believe in, hawking everything from household products to insurance. "I sell products that help people out; I'm a problem solver," he said. "I'm not an actor, I'm a pitchman [and] it's been an exciting ride."

I aint tryna argue, but you don't feel any type of way about MJ the king of pop dieing, arguably the best entertainer we'll EVER see, but are apperently depressed because someone who did INFOMERCIALS died and you wished you could buy his products when he was alive?????????????????????????????

Yes. It is depressing when good guys that are upstanding human beings while being so good at what they do die. Specially when they die before their time. It sucks to hear about great people like Billy Mays dieing at age 50 when horrible people like MJ get to live. It sucks to see an Actor like MJF suffer from parkinsons while actors like Robert Downey jr. throws away every chance over and over again. I am heartless like that. I think the MJ should have died years ago, specifically a year before he touched the first kid. I look at Stephan Hawkins one of the greatest minds of century confined to a wheel chair barely able to move his own head for over a quarter of a century. I wonder how someone like that is tourtured with that kind of life, but people who think its okay to praise a child rapist just because he danced well can walk without a care in the world.
So yes I would rather praise the life of a man that spent his life dedicated to selling us semi useful shit with a passion matched by no one else. While living a normal respectful life where he destroyed nobody elses. Over someone might be "more important", all because that guy did things so horrible and so evil that there is a special place in hell for people like him.
The best episode of In living color was the one with michael jackson asking that and when the officer said "your under arrest" and the MJ'd Wayans said "guess that means I am black" was the funniest moment on TV.
i'm sure Billy Mays was a nice enough guy but his phony baloney infomercials and commercials drove me nuts......He personified the word salesman and that is not a good thing.....
