Just heard Jimmy Bain died last week. Scottish bass player with Ronnie James Dio and Rainbow. Lung cancer.
RIP Jimmy."...when Hibernian won the Scottish Cup final and that celebration, Sunshine on Leith? I don’t think there’s a better football celebration ever in the game.”

That sucks! RIP Jimmy.
Heard a rumor that he was brought in to play base on one of the Scorpions albums as Frances Buchholz was having "issues" (whatever that means). After recording the album Jimmy was asked to join by the other members of the band.
Their management (either Krebs/Leber or Doc McGee) at the time overrode the decision as they felt that it would be better to keep the band together with an all German lineup.
He was secretly brought in by the German hard rockers Scorpions to play bass guitar on their 1984 album Love at First Sting. The leader of the band, rhythm guitarist Rudolf Schenker, wanted him to join the Scorpions as full-time bassist, but their management wanted to keep the line-up German, so Francis Buchholz was brought back and Bain's bass tapes were deletedLast edited by YT; February 1, 2016, 06:23 PM.

He was actually on a cruise ship supporting Def Leppard on their "Hysteria on the High Seas" tour.
After RJD died, Heaven & Hell disbanded but the same members, (Bain, Vinny Appice and Vivian Campbell, *original Dio line up* ) reformed as Last in Line. That would've been some gig......., Last in Line and Def Leppard, ON A BOAT?!
Edit: I did not know that about Rudy Schenker wanting Bain in the Scorpions.Last edited by Marko69; February 1, 2016, 06:34 PM."...when Hibernian won the Scottish Cup final and that celebration, Sunshine on Leith? I don’t think there’s a better football celebration ever in the game.”

Know how you feel, UKBB. All these "legendary" baseball & basketball sports stars and coaches that are dying......, Never heard of any of them!
I get updates from a rock mag to email. Static X are American and big in your country and the U.K. But if you don't like hard metal music, how would you know? I'm assuming Panoptes will have heard of Static and their awesome "Wisconsin Death Trip" album. Fucking superb.Last edited by Marko69; February 2, 2016, 09:09 AM. I'm a Big Static-X Fan. Was really bummed out when Wayne died last year. Wayne Static lived in here in Michigan in Otsego as a teen. Every Static-X album always had a song W/Otsego in the title. After Wayne left Michican in His late teens to start His career in Music He moved to Chicago. While there one of His 1st bands He started was W/Billy Corgan, Who'd go on to form Smashing Pumpkins. 2 Great Musicians who went in total different music directions. On This Day: Dec. 19 2010 At Tampa Bay
We ended our 26 road game losing streak.:-D
