Friday on my mind was their biggest hit, but I loved this song more. (great riff)

        • George Lemon III (April 25, 1932*? December 27, 2015), known professionally as "Meadowlark" Lemon, was an American basketball player, actor, and minister. For 22 years, Lemon was known as the "Clown Prince" of the touring Harlem Globetrotters basketball team.[1] He played in more than 16,000 games for the Globetrotters and was a 2003 inductee of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. When basketball legend Wilt Chamberlain was asked his opinion on the best player of all time, he responded, "Believe it or not, Meadowlark Lemon."[2]

I am way too much of a geek when it comes to music from the 50's to the mid 90's.

After that when hip hop, rap, etc went mainstream, not so much.....

Although they are usually classified as part of the British Invasion, their greatest hits album is loaded with Do - Wop stuff like you'd hear from Sha Na Na, but the Eagle Rock is their signature song. I think their following was more like a cult following, and this song is considered the Australia Rock National Anthem. Typical chord progressions like many different bands from the 70's, this song has always been a favorite of mine. Oz sent me a copy a few years back and I listen to it often. Strange fact about the Eagle Rock song, when they played this song in the Pubs, all the men in the bar would "drop trou" to their ankles. Strange.
