  • It was to be expected, but that was so embarrassing. The growing pains are real.

    • Not bad. Not bad. There's potential for this team.
      GO LIONS "24" !!

      • I’m expecting an investigation. There’s no way the 5 guys who played on the offensive line today were on this team before the bye. That was amazing.

        • That was much improved all around. Chiles toned down the hero ball and only had one pick. They relied on Kim too much but a field goal is better than forcing the issue into a turnover.

It was kind of shocking how easily they shredded Iowa's d. The defense is pretty good when they can play with a lead and they are not playing the top dog teams

          • There’s some legit talent sprinkled around on this team. We need a strong finish to keep the talent we have and convince recruits and transfers to join them.

            • I haven’t watched Michigan this year, but from what I’ve read they’re similar to Iowa - Michigan’s defense is a bit better, but their offense isn’t as good. They’ve got a lot of pressure on them to win this game to keep this season from being a complete disaster.

The skilled position players on State’s offense are really talented. The OL was great last week, but that came out of nowhere. Hard to believe they completely transformed over a bye week.

The Spartans are improving, but this seems like a spot where they stub their toe and regress a little. I can see us losing a low scoring heartbreaker, like 17-16.

              • The big problem is that Harbaugh kinda left Moore holding the bag as he took a ton of the Wolverines old coaching staff with him to San Diego, and a lot of their talent moved on. The Wolverines had to rebuild on the fly with a shorter time frame to work with. As a result, they really aren't that good. Not that the entitled Wolverine fan base wants to accept this, they are screaming for Moore's head and that the world is over.

I suspect Sparty is going to help the gnashing of teeth along, because I honestly think Sparty wins this one fairly handily.

                • Sparty easy this weekend. Chiles will make 3-4 big plays against Don Brown 2.0s defense and that will be more than enough against this horror show of an offense.

-----------------------------I don't think it will be handily but I predicted MSU to win this one.

                    • If MSU wins, Michigan is not likely to be bowl eligible. They'd have to beat Northwestern at home and additionally win one of these 3 games: Oregon at home, Indiana on the road, OSU on the road.

                      • They don't deserve to be bowl eligible. They're terrible.

                        • Indiana would have finished 10th or 11th on the SEC. The B1G was horrible this year.

                          • Maybe, but the worst thing about college football is the gatekeeping and the endless talk about conferences. They had a decent enough record to get in and the dumbest thing about this playoff is the two commentators going on and on about how they shouldn't have been in for the last 5 minutes. The bigger story was their coach was coaching scared tonight. For all the tough talk Cignetti has, he's a flat track bully that could use some lessons from Dan Campbell.

You are the underdog on the road, you have to take risks. He was content to keep on punting.

                            • The conferences are so big that there’s way too much difference in schedules among the teams. The luck of the schedule draw is huge now.

(I agree about the Cignetti. He choked on this opportunity.)

                              • I maintain that the Big Ten should do something like this:

Let's just go all in; bring in as many of the old Pac-10/12 teams as they can. Then there can be like a Pacific Coast division, and a Midwest division. Ya'll still following?

Then we can have a conference championship game between the winner of the Pacific Division and the Midwest Division. And just for fun, we can like play that game not just in Indianapolis, but also say, oh, I dunno, the Rose Bowl in Pasadena or something.

I know. It sounds insane. But I think it could work!
