He made a sweet block on that long St. Brown run against the Commanders.

I think it's pretty clear they've wanted to use Reynolds, Chark to stretch the field while St. Brown, Swift and Hockenson do the heavy lifting. With St. Brown, Swift and Hockenson (not that he was doing much anyway) hurting their lack of ability to do much more than that is exposed. I dunno if Cephus was active for the Vikings game but they probably could have used him.

I saw him on the sideline. He was in uniform.

All of us except Jadaam had us opening the season as L W L, and nobody wanted to see MCDC fired if that were to happen. The fact is that the Lions played better in all three of these games than any of us expected. In fact, much better. MCDC admitted that he made the wrong call. He manned up. He owned it. FMP would've shown up late to the press conference and then said the loss is everyone's fault but his. The Lions have clearly gotten better despite losing our best QB of all time. Our Lions team as it now would beat the pants off of FMP's teams. We're not bleeding talent because the coach is a piece of shit. In fact, probably the opposite. For the first time in a long time, we very well may be on FA's radars. One loss that should've been a win in a season where we know we aren't winning the division is not a big deal. I'm over Minnesota. Over it. Our expectations before the season was probably 2-3 at the bye. Some coulda seen 3-2 as a possibility and it certainly still is. It will suck if we miss the playoffs because of this game but if it drops us from 5th seed to 7th, I don't really care.
"Yeah, we just... we don't want them to go. So that's our motivation."

There is certainly an underlying feeling of that when checking Lions results.

They’d need to go 9-2 first 11 games for the late season games to raise any interest. And the good thing about being able to admit that is; Lions fans can never be labelled “glory hunters” 👌

After all these decades, it would be proper unbelievable if a character like MCDC brought success. Its just s’no happenin’ !

Dan need to get this time management cleaned up asap. Here's an issue I didn't see...

Trickalicious - I don't think it is fair that the division rivals get to play the Lions twice. The Lions NEVER get to play the Lions, let alone twice.

Ya know, I'd buy the "pace of the offense" argument if his plan hadn't been straight up the gut runs into an 8-man box. I'm gonna guess that aggressive clock control offense isn't going to be spreading through the league like wildfire.

This has been another episode of "The Worst of Both Worlds" with your host, Dan Campbell.

The Lions went for it 6 times on 4th down and on 5 of those I thought it was either the absolute right move or a 50/50 call. The only one I didn't like was the one late in the first half at mid-field. The 54 yard field goal attempt, there is no defense. There's no logic behind that with their current kicking situation. If you've got Justin Tucker back there, then I get it, but they don't.

Definitely needs some work with the timeouts.

Most of the time the decisions to go for it have been acceptable. Has one here or there I strongly disagree with but most of the time there are good pro's and con's to either choice.

The one this week was the biggest head scratcher considering his kicker was 3 of 11 from 50+ between college, pre-season and regular season games. I understand that they probably kept him over Patterson because he at least does have the leg strength but using him 50+ should be the last option there, not the first.
