    • That dude is whistling last the graveyard. I don't know what stage this is, but optimistic Lion fans always like to blame the previous regime when the current regime has shown no progress.

      • I think a bigger problem than Dan Campbell and his aggressiveness is that the team has spent 4 high draft picks on DL in the 2 drafts Holmes has run ... yet they still can't stop the run or get to the QB ... Campbell pretty much has to go in shootout mode cuz the defense stops nobody
WHO CARES why it says paper jam when there is no paper jam?

He is saying exactly the truth. There is no one, not one person in the history of football and coaching, that could take what Quinn and Patricia left and have turned it into a good team by now.

Campbell is fucking up on some bone head calls but there is not a lot to work with.

They have shown progress. Drafting the last 2 years has been fantastic. The O line is one of the best in football. After this year the rediculous amount of dead money is off the books (which means they have slowed down and not made it worse).

Whether or not you people see this team is in a better financial spot and has a core of young, elite level guys to build around. This is how contenders are are made. I've said a bunch of times that Campbell needs to fix his play calling but he is learning too. But this team is in a much better place than they were 2 years ago.

That game wasn't going to be a shootout though. If you are going against a rookie QB make him drive on long fields. They didn't ever try to oin them deep.

Yes the drafting has been fantastic. LOL.

                    • I get it, the Lions are different, every other team in the league can turn their fortunes around quickly, but the Lions always need a 5 year time horizon.

It's the same team as last year. Only 3 players have changed . IOW, SOL. At this rate of "improvement " my grandkids will be retired before the Lions become a .500 team. To that point, no need to fire anyone, the Lions will just hire more jokers and nothing will change. Should be clear by now the coaching staff and F O. are out their depth.

Just sit back and enjoy the shit show. It will never change, this is the Lions way.

                        • I'm definitely not buying 5 years. I'd be open to a potential 3rd considering the Inherited cap and roster.

I think this is reasonable. One more offseason and if the team is at or near the same state at this time next year, get out the fucking broom
I feel like I am watching the destruction of our democracy while my neighbors and friends cheer it on

I get what that guy is intimating, but, in today's sports world, you don't have 5 years to get it together. Guys come up to be re-signed and you have to judge if it's worth it. Also the team gets sick of hearing the coaches squack when the team is losing.
Trickalicious - I don't think it is fair that the division rivals get to play the Lions twice. The Lions NEVER get to play the Lions, let alone twice.

Is he? That's my question. Because hearing the stuff he has said after the last 2 losses don't equate so. He sounds more like he's doubling down more then anything. I hope I am wrong
